Patriots 19-0 Superbowl merchandise

XHonusWagnerX - 2-4-2008 at 01:36 PM

I just heard that Reebok printed SO many "Patriots 2008 Superbowl Champion" shirts and hats that they are not going to destroy them like they ALWAYS do with the preprinted merchandise for the losing team of a championship game.

Because basicly EVERYONE thought the Patriots were going to win and the demand for Patriots merchandise is (was) so high Reebok preprinted millions of shirts! Usually all those shirts/hats etc. are immediatly destroyed and never seen!

This year because of the massive qualtity of them Reebok is going to donate them to some charity so they will goto people with nothing in Africa and South America. The funny part is that they will be so collectible that if some guy in a tribe somewhere will be wearing a shirt that he could sell on eBay for enough money to feed his village for a year!

I cant find an article online about it yet.

If this is true, thats pretty damn cool of them to do that.

they really should do that. In fact someone should be able to hook those people up with connections to ebay etc. Now that would benefit the tribe rather than a tshirt. Some douche in Idaho could buy it for 100 or something. Then hook the tribes people up with that.

If anyone finds anything about it online post it up.

Im sure its a HUGE tax writeoff for Reebok, but it is still cool if they donate the stuff.

Fuck it, they could auction the shit out themselves and hook the villages up with some new clothes that aren't mistakenly printed millions of shirts that sports fans will want to collect and pay hundreds, perhaps thousands, for. Give the money, or the clothing and food and medicine that they could buy with it directly to the destitute.

^^^^^^^^ you know that wont happen, but it is a good idea. They would have the greedy hands all over the profits.

Problem is that the shirts are worth a lot based on supply and demand. Demand is HIGH and there is NO supply. If they released all the shirts and sold them then they would be selling millions of shirts so even if demand stayed high, supply would be high and the value would drop.
