Had these guys cranked for the last couple of hours. Great fucking band. Ignorance still stands up as a great record today.

I was on a kick with them a little while back.
I loved them back in my metal dude days.
Dude wrote some thought provoking lyrics, which is what set them apart from the rest of their genre.
Are they still active?
I did get to see them back in high school with Sepultura, Napalm Death and Sick Of It All....that was a hell of a show. Great time period for tours like that...I think later that year or the year after there was one with Napalm, Carcass, Cathedral and Brutal Truth...that shit was good.

surf nicaragua is one of the best thrash songs of all time.
and i love the american way record. i just say " johnny, can you hear me? turn that music down..."

I am still in search of some cd's of theirs. I had SURF on tape back in the day, but that was it. I really want some of cd for the IPOD. I just can't find anything anywhere. THey were from AZ right? I was told on the singer had a record store out their or something back in the 80's.

I saw that as well. I also saw them open for Pantera on the "Vulgar Display of Power" tour.

Apparently Metal Blade re-released Ignorance, Surf.., and their demo on one cd, and it also comes with a bonus dvd of a live set from the Dynamo festival. Unfortunately it only came out in Europe. I looked on ebay but the guy was charging $30. I'm going to wait and see if I can get it cheaper. They've been doing some reunion gigs, so I hope they do a whole tour.

I saw them on that tour too and I was more psyched to see them then Pantera. They rocked!

Discipline - 2-25-2008 at 09:43 PM

In terms of sound quality, they were one of the best live bands I've ever seen.

They get bonus points for having a singer that plays bass. thats always cool in my book.

XHonusWagnerX - 2-26-2008 at 11:47 AM

Oh yeah... plus they have a guy named WILEY in the band!

Remember the 'funk' song 28 flavors I think it was called.
