We're excited to announce the release of our debut full length album on March 4, 2008. The album was recorded with Jim Siegel at the Outpost in Stoughton, MA. We're putting it out ourselves and take a lot of pride in this record. It's a loud, in your face punk rock and roll album that never skips a beat. These are songs about real life, real fears, real loves and real losses. Look for more tracks, video and lots of other content on myspace in the coming months. You can pick up the new Scars album in March at your local independent record store, interpunk.com, our website or on any of the major download services. Lets see how far we can take this with your support.

Hope to see you at a show,

- The Scars

XHonusWagnerX - 3-4-2008 at 11:13 AM

Im going to Newbury today after work to pick it up!

XHonusWagnerX - 3-4-2008 at 07:25 PM

I bought it.... I hadnt heard any of the songs because I hate listening to music on Myspace.... The CD.... ITS AWESOME!

I think it sounds like SLOPPY SECONDS (which is a good thing in my opinion)... one of my favorite 'street punk' CDs in a long time.

Little Review from Interpunk:

From Interpunk:

Dave From Plymouth Meeting PA Writes:

The Boston area keeps churning out amazing punk bands. Maybe its the water, maybe its the beer, maybe its the Red Sox finally winning a World Series in 2004, maybe its due to having to put up with Ted Kennedy as a Senator for 40+ yrs. Whatever it is, I hope that it never stops. I heard these guys on a Loud Fast Rules free comp, and immediately headed out to My Space to hear some more. They only had a couple songs up, but they were rippers. Just hoped they would get an EP or full length out before I forgot about them. So here's the full length, and it doesn't disappoint. Reminds me a little of faster Ducky Boys songs, the Dropkicks "Do or Die", and the Street Dogs "Savin Hill"...there's that Boston connection again. The awesome Beltones come to mind as well. Its plain straight up street rock n' roll, no fillers, nothing to hide. Somebody get these guys on a solid record label...fast. Absolutely recommended.

Hey everyone, I really can't say enough how much we appreciate your rabid support. A bunch of Newbury Comics locations had already sold out of the CD but they should be back on the shelves today, and We're already resupplying them a third time, which blows my mind. We really appreciate the support and please keep letting us know what you think, even if you hate it, we appreciate the feedback. The CD is still only $6.99 at all Newybury Comics so if you haven't gotten to pick one up yet we'd definitely appreciate it. There's even a chance we might make the indie charts this week, which is absolutely insane for a totally independent, regional, self release.

BDx13 - 3-6-2008 at 11:46 AM

so i'm on newburycomics.com, i got a whole shopping cart full of other shit ready to go and i'm trying to add me a scars cd, but can't find it on the site. at all.

do you know if they are offering it online or does it just not show up if it's sold out?

chris - 3-6-2008 at 11:47 AM

its not for sale online, since they don't normally put consignment cd's up there, sorry Duane. You can order it through interpunk or our website if you want. Definitely appreciate the support though.

BDx13 - 3-6-2008 at 12:12 PM

bummer. i just sent newburry a support email asking if they had it. at the very least that'll let them know it's in demand!

made the order through your site. thanks, chris.

upyerbum - 3-6-2008 at 05:22 PM

I'm in Boston next week, I'll likely check out this Newbury Comics joint.

chris - 3-6-2008 at 05:37 PM

awesome, coming down for the dropkicks?

upyerbum - 3-6-2008 at 09:11 PM

Yeah, I'm going to the Tsonga's Arena show on Saturday.

I was hoping that The Welch Boys would be playing a Dropkicks show so I could go and hang out... no such luck this year though.

yeah they've been super busy recording. They were supposed to play a Throw Up show and had to cancel, they were also supposed to play our CD release party and couldn't do it.

well recording is good too.... I keep hoping that for some reason they need a new bass player so I can slip in there. I love the band and Ed is a great guy!
