i have that 'the valley of...' cd, but never really got into it.
i'll go listen again now.

The Tossers are by far the best "Irish" band going. No question.

BDx13 - 3-5-2008 at 08:01 PM

i just listened to it again and i am not in to it.
nothing really grabs me and little is memorable.
"no loot, no booze..." being the exception, but i don't care for the song - it's just catchy.

do they have any other releases?

upyerbum - 3-5-2008 at 08:15 PM

Long Dim Road

clevohardcore - 3-5-2008 at 08:24 PM

Ya they have quite a bit. THey have been around for over 15 years or so. THe only releases I am familiar with are LONG DIM ROAD, BEYOND THE VALLEY OF THE SHADOW OF DEATH, LEGACY, and now this new cd/dvd. They were awesome when they opened for MURPHYS LAW 3 years ago. THats how I found out of them.

BD, I can't for the life of me understand how you can't get into that album, it's fucking amazing. Knowing how much you love The Pogues and that you dig at least one Flogging Molly album, it's beyond me how this couldn't get your attention. Especially after reading your comment about wanting more of the high energy stuff from Flogging Molly, that's what this album has in spades. I slept on this band for years because I only listened to one album in a store once and it was too mellow and never grabbed me, but I heard Good Mornin', Da off the album in question and went right out and bought it. I think I nearly wore it out in the first week. I bought Agony (their next release) and wasn't quite as stoked on it, but it's still good.

Their last cd was fucking gold. In The Valley has its weak points but really has some stellar tracks on it. Especially Drinking In The Day.

Their Communication & Convictions album is by far some of their best though!

BDx13 - 3-6-2008 at 11:32 AM

i'll try again in a few days.
maybe listening in the car would be better - i focus on music more when i'm not working.

Thats what I heard, but I never actually listend to it because it is impossible to find as with most of their older releases. .

I watched the dvd last night and it is a good show. Nice production. Fuck Victory though. I so did not want to buy it at BESTBUY because of it being a VOCTORY release, but I have to believe this helps the band out in some way.
