I only made it about halfway. I ended up on their message board one day for a laugh and people got super pissed when I mentioned how bad that Necropolis cd is. I mentioned that they were trying to be Hatebreed and changed to the shitty death metal vocal style Hatebreed made so popular. The singer replied to me a few times. When I mentioned the change in style he said they were one of the originators of the metallic hardcore sound along with AF and Merauder in the late 80's. When I mentioned the change in vocal style he claimed it was just him being more intense, nothing to do with trying to sound like Hatebreed. When I mentioned how horrible the cd sounded overall, he said it was more of a demo than a "real" release. Bunch of horseshit as far as I'm concerned. They're trying so fucking hard to fit in with the Hatebreed crowd it ridiculous. That first album was fucking amazing, Necropolis and Suffering of Man were fucking horrible pieces of shit. About as good and "real hawdcore" as a Good Charlotte record.

An asteroid may have wiped out the dinosaurs 65 million years ago, but an earlier one probably allowed the rise of the giant creatures, who dominated the planet for 135 million years.

While I agree with most of what you said about them falling off, I have to laugh at this: " mentioned that they were trying to be Hatebreed and changed to the shitty death metal vocal style Hatebreed made so popular." Jamey Jasta doesn't even come close to doing death metal vocals....at all nor does Subzero.

Discipline - 3-13-2008 at 06:41 PM

I know the vocals aren't the same as death metal, but it's the easiest way to describe them. Doing the deep-throated growling style hardcore vocals, like Cookie Monster in an effort to sound more brutal is how I normally describe it.

clevohardcore - 3-13-2008 at 10:28 PM

cookie monster = hardcore.

Sounds better to me than some fruit screaming at the top of his lungs in some hi pitched voice about how none of his friends are straight edge anymore. At least the growlers nuts have dropped. hahahahh.

Wow, some HARSH critics on SZ here.

I love those guys and like their progression. No, it's not the same as the demo, 7" and 1st lp, but they are still a HC band in my book and still a great band.

Discipline - 3-14-2008 at 02:20 PM

I'm harsh because I love the first record so much. The other two sound NOTHING like it. To me it's them jumping on a bandwagon.

BDx13 - 3-14-2008 at 03:03 PM

i never got into subzero.

guy beat cancer - that's fuckin tough!
