Indipendent Truckers on Strike

Anyone here anything about this? Im hearing about it as old news because I think it actually happened/started on Tuesday, but they had 18 wheelers going 45 mph side by side blocking highways. Some truckers are just shut down and not driving at all.

Its all because of the gas/oil prices.

Just wondered if anyone else heard anything about this or knows if its still going on?

I heard they will start to be more frequent with the slowing down in traffic thing. Were they block al lanes of traffic and then slow down.

When I used to drive a truck I was glad my boss paid for the gas, because that shit was expensive.

Ok, go on strike, I get it. But they can go fuck themselves as far as slowing down traffic. Fuck.

what they are not telling you in that article, is that they get to write off almost all of the costs listed,
including the gas...
yes it's more out of pocket now, but less you pay in tax at the end of the year...
and if they are not writing it off they need a better accountant

every meal, event drop of gas, every brake pad, can be written off...

Thats all true, but if the drivers cant afoard the gas to do the jobs and make enough money to survive then the write offs dont really help at the moment.

you gotta hope for the best but prepare for the worst when you are your own boss
cause no one is going to bail your ass out
unless you are already rich but we wont go there

when times are hard you work harder or you don't work at all...

I hate the ideas behind capitolism like this, but if a driver doesn't want to make the haul there is someone out there who will do it cheaper....

that's how this system is suppsed to work right...
we get a lot of work other places wont touch because it's too much work for too little money
but pride don't pay the bill's

but this makes me wonder something

did you hear about the U.S. opening it's borders to the mexican truckers....
hmm....

I am not 100% sure of the current politics involved, and I have nothing against my poor brown people from the south...

but if immigrants will pick the fruit, and wash the dishes, and cut the grass, for less then anyone else...
maybe the will driver the trucks as well...
