Thorp and Sailor's Grave Board

finding out something you have is valuable rocks!

I got an email today from a guy that found my record list on 'HowsYourEdge' offering to trade me the Youth of Today 'Cant Close My Eyes' 7" on orange vinyl with Batman stamps on the sleeve and lables. The story behind it is that Ray & Porcel repressed the 7" on orange and added the Batman logos and never sold them. They pressed 100 of them just to trade to people for Old GI Joes and other toys that they wanted. So... needless to say, its pretty rare.

Well.. he wants the set of 12 Melvins 7"s on AmRep that I have. They are all on colored vinyl and they put out 1 each month for a year. I knew they were limited to 1000 each, but never researched the value.

So when I got the trade offer I checked PopSike.com and the YOT 7" is worth between $300-$450. There was only one set of Melvins 7"s sold in the last 2 years and it sold for $820 over a year ago. I had NO clue they were worth that much!

I think I'm going to pass on the trade, but now I know I got something I can trade or sell if I come across some Slapshot stuff I really need!

Popsike is just a database of expired ebay auctions so people can research the possible value of records. They dont include every acution of any given record so prices may go up or down, but now show up on the site.

As far as pressing info.... thats a matter of doing multiple google searches and putting together stuff you can find on different websites.
