Thorp and Sailor's Grave Board

PENTAGRAM (the band)

Anyone know anything about these guys? I bought the 'first daze here too' CD yesterday. I think it came out a year or two ago and acording to the booklet the band formed in 1971.

For some reason after reading the bio in the CD book I was getting the feeling that it was fake and that it wasnt an old band, but actually a new band that plays 70's style rock/metal. The fact that its on Relapse Records kind of made me thing that too.

Anyone know?

They are indeed an old band. Relapse likely picked up the rights for a quality re-release. They inspired a lot of bands.

They've been called the Black Sabbath of America....great band.Hank III does a melody of a few of their songs live....and Bobby Liebling (the singer) joined Hank III on stage a time or two. Do a search on YouTube, there is video of it on there.

yeah I read that too, but some of it sounds so out there, that I wasnt sure if it was a made up story of a 70's band created by some newer band that was playing 70's style rock.

Theyre great either way, but I am glad that they are an old band.
