Where did the name thorp come from?moron - 3-28-2005 at 10:38 PM
Ive actually been wondering that myself.THORP - 3-28-2005 at 11:32 PM
THORP is an old English name that has been passed down through my family. It is my middle name, and being that it is somewhat unique, it also
developed as my nick name. I decided to call the label it cuz I always love businesses with no frills names like "Bob's Garage" or "Nick's Bait and
Tackle", Such names cut the BS. So, hence THORP RECORDS. The name also doesn't instantly connotate a particular genre or sub-genre, which gives me
freedom to make Thorp Records merely an extention of my own tastes, kind of like my cd collection to be shared with the world (or at least those
willing).
Honestly, i think THORP litterally means small farm, but I ain't sure. I have it tattooed across my back in Old English, so i am clearly a proponent
of small farms.Killthehumans - 3-28-2005 at 11:50 PM
