How can I not dig him?
Stuff makes me feel better than any hawdcoe shit ever.tireironsaint - 4-24-2008 at 08:45 AM
I know he had a hand in a lot of great stuff, but all of the stuff I've heard that's actually HIS has irritated the fuck outta me. I never could get
into dub and all that, but I LOVE old Reggae and such. Guess I don't get his schtick.Dave - 4-24-2008 at 10:02 AM
you just have to go back further into his catalog, he did some amazing ska, rocksteady shit, before he started doing dub.
check out this album Lee Perry - Chicken Scratch it's fucking great.newbreedbrian - 4-24-2008 at 10:07 AM
or Lee Perry - The Upsetter. not sure if that one's on cd. it's easily available on Trojan still as far as I know. absolutely killer album. you can
also get collections of his early/mid 60s ska stuff too, really good. and yeah, some of the later stuff throws me for a loop.gavin - 4-24-2008 at 10:29 AM

Never been able to get into reggae. A number of years back I got a boxset of "skinhead reggae" as a gift but later sold it as it isn't my thing.JawnDiablo - 4-25-2008 at 10:18 PM
