At first I wasn't amused but this looks pretty good, I thought at one time it was a re-imagining of the first film but it looks like its kind of a sequel of sorts picking up with Banner on the run. Plus the TV theme at the end is awesome.

Furly - 5-1-2008 at 01:14 PM

this looks like a movie I would spend the $10 to go see, then probably walk out when my candy is gone.

Jason the Magnificent - 5-1-2008 at 01:20 PM

Souns like a waste of $20 to me...

XHonusWagnerX - 5-1-2008 at 01:45 PM

Im interested in The Hulk. I heard it was a remake (kind of) meaning it was starting the series over. I cant watch the trailer caue YouTube doesnt work on my work computer.

Im definitly interested in Iron Man, but dont know if Ill actually see it.

DAK - 5-1-2008 at 02:38 PM

Looks a hellava lot better than that last piece of shit.

BDx13 - 5-1-2008 at 02:57 PM

that's basically what the incredible hulk is...a retelling that won't have nick nolte. i think it looks great. i love ed norton and he had a hand in re working the script.

i'll be seeing iron man this weekend.

Jason the Magnificent - 5-2-2008 at 11:51 AM

I've been hearing that it's not a retelling exactly of the last movie. That people were just saying that because no one really could describe it better or figure out exactly what they were up to. It looks as if maybe theres some origin flashback, but for the most part it's after Banner is Hulked and how he deals with it as they really wanted more of the vibe of the TV show then anything else.

We'll see though I guess, looks like fun from the trailer.

when i say retelling, i mean it as a different way of telling the story, like batman begins was a retelling of batman, superman returns was a retelling of superman, etc. it has no real connection with the last movie. different cast and etc. i didn't explain myself better.

DaveMoral - 5-4-2008 at 01:18 AM

Wasn't Superman Returns more of a proper Superman III working off Richard Donner's original vision for the ending of Superman II?

I'm interested in this one. Saw Iron Man today... introduced S.H.E.I.L.D. but no Nick Fury. It was good, my only dislikes were things most of you guys wouldn't be irked about. Some things just came off a bit racist with the pronounced nose of one of the antagonists. Blah. Hinted at the Mandarin... I hope they do that, though I'm not sure his mystic rings would fit with what they're doing.

tireironsaint - 5-4-2008 at 02:29 AM

I've been cautiously waiting on more info on this until I saw the preview today. That last attempt at making a Hulk movie was utter failure, but this looks pretty fucking good. When the TV show was on, my world revolved around it, so them taking that angle amps my interest up.
I drew the same comparison between this Hulk and the last one as Batman Begins versus the older franchise too.

Dave, your SHIELD comment points right at my last comment in the Iron Man thread.... and I really don't think the nose was a racial thing, looked like the actor had a schnozz on him not like they put some prosthetic on to make him the evil stereotype. I think Hollywood is way too PC to allow something like that to fly at this point anyway.

In my Iron Man thread I mentioned staying after the credits...unfotunately I didn't know till after the fact either.

Also word is they filmed a scene with him and Downey's Stark thats in the Hulk for the big crossover thats in the works...we'll see if that ever pans out.

DaveMoral - 5-4-2008 at 02:54 PM

I'm thinking the Avengers is going to get made. What with Iron Man, Hulk both this year, Captain America next year.

tireironsaint - 5-4-2008 at 03:01 PM

That's what the teaser hints at....

bombidol - 5-4-2008 at 03:03 PM

What was the hint at the Mandarin?

Jason the Magnificent - 5-4-2008 at 06:52 PM

The dude constantly rubbing his ring and the terrorist group being called the 10 rings.

bombidol - 5-4-2008 at 07:14 PM

ah. Jasus, never copped it!

DaveMoral - 5-4-2008 at 07:33 PM

Yeah, they need to find a way to actually bring in the Mandarin. From what I hear Terrence Howard is saying in the rounds we may be seeing War Machine.

bombidol - 5-4-2008 at 07:42 PM

Without a doubt War machine will be in it. He even said it in the movie "Next time baby" I like Howard but I'm just not feeling him as Rhodes at all.

JawnDiablo - 5-4-2008 at 07:49 PM

damn i remember watching the show on channel 48 here in philly when i was little.
that first movie blew
the ps2 game blew worse
me and my son fell asleep
this new one i hope will be cool.
i like Ed Norton
so we'll see
it looks cool

bombidol - 5-4-2008 at 08:53 PM

PS2 game was terrible but Hulk, Ultimate Destruction for xbox was fuckin great.

DaveMoral - 5-5-2008 at 06:35 PM

As long as he actually says some old comic classic lines like "HULK SMASH" I'll be satisfied. Ang Lee's Hulk didn't even talk.

hardtone - 5-5-2008 at 08:47 PM

This HULK movie looks great, Norton as Banner, Hurt as General Ross, plus Roth as the Abomination. This is defiantly more comic accurate then the last flick.

DaveMoral - 5-5-2008 at 11:44 PM

Who is playing Betty this time around?

Jason the Magnificent - 5-6-2008 at 12:32 AM

Liv

Dave - 5-6-2008 at 06:04 AM

i saw iron man last night.

it was awesome!

so much fun.

Lucabrasi - 5-6-2008 at 06:52 AM

I dont know much about the Incredible Hulk but I'll take a stab at what the movie will be about

small guy turns green and big when he gets angry

he falls in love with a girl

kills some bad guys

gets the girl

the end

Jason the Magnificent - 5-6-2008 at 10:44 AM

mmm...probably not then.

DaveMoral - 5-6-2008 at 08:06 PM

Here's the skinny on The Avengers and other related projects hitting theaters in the next three years, straight from Marvel.

Discipline - 5-6-2008 at 08:21 PM

Years ago, my favorite series was The Avengers so I hope the movie is ggod. I've also read that the proposed Thor movie is back up and running.

DaveMoral - 5-6-2008 at 08:44 PM

That article is crazy, with Thor next year... another Iron Man in 2 years. Cap in three, and a couple months later Avengers. Plus we've got the Wolverine movie coming out next year or the year after. Punisher War Journal(or War Zone, I can't remember) this fall.

Marvel's going to crazy since they've been able to do everything in-house. Judging by their first in-house venture in Iron Man... I'd say everything else that's coming down the pike has some pretty good chance at being good.
