Mark, the Ducky Boys are listed alphabetically after DKM on my iPod. I go for long runs Friday mornings before work. The past 3 weeks I have
listened to several DB songs. I have a lyrics question:
In the song "Celebrate" there is something said during the Chorus that I can't figure out.
It happens while the main lyric is "We Celebrate" Can you help me out? It is the words that are sung by the group almost in the background.
Not only is it a brilliant song but also very moving. I also love "Middle Children..."
Thanks Man, much appreciated.Mark Lind - 5-16-2008 at 11:04 AM
Thanks, guy.
It says "mourn your (good) fortune". The idea behind the part was sort of Beatles-esque. Like in the song "Getting Better" from Sgt Pepper they says
"Its getting better all the time" and John responds with "it couldn't get much worse". I liked the idea of those two opposite ideas in the same part.
So the song is saying basically that the world is falling apart while we (the fortunate) are having a good time. And we're slowly dying every day. So
that response line is sort of saying 'be grateful for what you have and feel bad for the people that are less fortunate than you'.CR83 - 5-16-2008 at 11:57 AM
Well there you go. Thanks Man. I really appreciate you taking time out for this. I have tried my best to figure it out. Huge help. I had
"fortune" but figured the word "soldier" was in there. Man, I was off.
Also, I'm still waiting to see the pic from the AIDS walk as you strut like George Jefferson.
Have a great one Bud.clevohardcore - 5-16-2008 at 12:09 PM
Does anyone else see the a possible connection to these lyrics and the thread about life and meds?Discipline - 5-16-2008 at 02:13 PM
Clebrate is one of my all-time favorite Ducky Boys songs. Great music, amazing lyrics.Mark Lind - 5-16-2008 at 02:30 PM
Thanks. My brother says the same thing. Its just so simple. Sometimes less is more I guess.DeathByForce - 5-16-2008 at 02:39 PM

Celebrate, Alone Tonight, and Tortured Soul are my 3 favorite tracks from the Ducky Boys. I can listen to those 3 songs over and over for hours on
end. I loved No Gettin' Out when it came out way back when,Dark Days too, but I rarely listen to them now. The last 2 albums were so amazing I
stick with them.joemaconmovies - 5-17-2008 at 10:19 PM
three chords and war back home are just such big changes from no gettin' out and dark days that unless the older material is done by the mark/jay/doug
line up, i'm just not as into listening to it as i used to be. still good songs but better under the most recent line up.XnMeX - 5-18-2008 at 01:10 AM
Three Cords is one of my all time favorite albums. FLAWLESS.... unless you count the sound of Jay's drum sticks towards the end of one of the
tracks. Track 15 if I remember corectly, could be wrong... clevohardcore - 5-18-2008 at 10:38 AM
3 chords is all I have and I jam that cd out constantly. The earlier stuff is tought ot get ahold.joemaconmovies - 5-18-2008 at 02:33 PM
