Thorp and Sailor's Grave Board

What is all this 'high fashion' hardcore crap???

XHonusWagnerX - 5-19-2008 at 07:34 PM

A $40 Sick Of It All shirt because it says "Xtreme Couture" on the front? Fucking lame, plus its ugly!

$40 SOIA SHIRT ON EBAY!?

It says 'Sick Of It All' and has the dragon on the back.

A $60 Bad Brains shirt because its made by "Supreme" its a 3 screen shirt, black & red ink on a white shirt!!

$60 BAD BRAINS SHIRT ON EBAY!?

A $375 Gorilla Biscuits wallet because it was made by "Paul Frank" made it and put it in a box with a few other pieces of crap!

$375 GORILLA BISCUITS WALLET & OTHER JUNK ON EBAY!?

There was also a Paul Frank GB shirt that they sold on the US Reuinion Tour. I think at the show it was $40. Very creative Paul... way to go adding a gold tooth to the Gorilla and not changing anything else. Asshole!

If the bands allowed this (obviously GB did) then fuck all of them.

MikeCore - 5-19-2008 at 08:36 PM

GB rocked that tour. I only bought a $12 shirt.

Six66Mike - 5-19-2008 at 09:05 PM

LOL I don't see any difference in this or super rare 7" that go for hundreds. Should be payin that much shit for this stuff.

clevohardcore - 5-19-2008 at 09:09 PM

I have no idea who any of these people are.

IT makes me sad to see if the bands agreed to this bullshit.

defstarsteve - 5-19-2008 at 09:19 PM

I personally hate this shit more then bootleggers
esp the soia shirt...

the fruits that are printing that shit do nothing but make my life hell...
please print huge designs that look like shit but I only want to pay nothing for it...
and make it bright but don't use any ink keep them super light and can I get them on fashion shirts that cost more blank then I can sell regular shirts for printed...

fuck fashion

I think its different becuase a 7" that is 'rare' is sold for the same price as the non-rare version when it comes out. These shirts are being sold for 5 times the value of a normal hardcore shirt teh day they come out.

XnMeX - 5-19-2008 at 09:56 PM

"Xtreme Couture"

That has to be the gayest clothing line name I have ever heard complete with an X at the begining to make it Xtra Xtreme!

JawnDiablo - 5-19-2008 at 10:10 PM

I'm against it.

morgan - 5-19-2008 at 10:13 PM

Yep thats gay as hell.

clevohardcore - 5-19-2008 at 11:15 PM

waht is a "FASHION SHIRT"? Is it the design? THe fit? What?

I remember fucking SPENCER GIFTS in the mall selling METALLICA and SLAYER shirts like this in the mall. You could always spot the metal posuer because he wore the SLAYER shirt with print on the entire shirt. NOW ITS WHAT PEOPLE ACTUALLY WANT?

DeathByForce - 5-20-2008 at 01:24 AM

I'd get everything but the wallet.

Honestly, I have no problem paying some money for certain clothes. At least this shit has some cool roots to it and isn't DAPE or something.

I just dont get it... why pay $40 for a ugly SOIA shirt when you can get a cool one for $15?

Also, I get what youre saying about the roots of it, but I think its lame that SOIA, GB, Bad Brains and any other band would lend their 'good name' to something like that.

I remember the 'all over print' shirts too (I think thats what you're talking about). They were damn ugly, but at least they were licensed by the band as shirts promoting the band. Not like these things are.... they're promoting a clothing company and just tacking on a band to try and sell more ugly shirts!

gavin - 5-20-2008 at 08:55 AM

i paid like $9 for a 3 pack of froot of the loom black pocet tshirts and another $9 for a 3 pack of white v neck jawns

HAHA! Too true.

I've been really hating shirts lately. Is it too much for me to ask for a plain T with just a band's logo on the front and nothing else? I don't need an catch phrases from a song, or any sing along or stage dive pics or any skulls and bullshit. I'm not about the bells and whistles.

MyOwnWay - 5-21-2008 at 09:24 AM

The SOIA shirt is in support of of some UFC guy. Dudes a huge SOIA fan and asked if they could team up to do a shirt together. Obviousley they agreed and the rest is history. I'm personaly not into the shirt, but I'm real happy for the guy, to work with SOIA, a band he loves, in support of something he does. The cost is due to it being considered a UFC shirt, not an actual SOIA shirt.

^^^^^^^^^^^ Who is the guy?

clevohardcore - 5-21-2008 at 10:00 AM

IF you look at his other listings he is selling shirts just like this one for many other bands. FACE TO FACE etc.

THey are all fucking gay.

XHonusWagnerX - 5-21-2008 at 10:45 AM

But the shirt doesnt say UFC on it which means that there should be no licenses to be paid except for SOIA and whoever the guy is. I think that based on that $40 for a Tshirt is retarted!

DAK - 5-21-2008 at 11:28 AM

Randy Couture.

BKT - 5-21-2008 at 12:54 PM

Good for all of them. If people are willing to pay that much them charge them that much. Business is about making money, that is the whole point of all the work and sacrifice that goes into running a business. If making money is not in your list of goals then you have yourself a hobby and not a business.

MM.

no you have a buisness with a conscious.

There is NOTHING wrong with making money and trying to make money. I just cant wrap my head around why someone would rather charge $60 for a Tshirt and sell a certain number than selling the same shirt for $20 (or less) and selling 3 times as many.

If you sell more for less than you make more people happy, gain more fans. If you sell less shirts for more money than you still make money, but I think it really turns off some people because of the price.

I can KIND OF understand it when there are a ton of hands in the pot like a licensed shirt that has 3-4 people attached to it.... but even then prices get out of hand!

BDx13 - 5-22-2008 at 09:29 AM

supply and demand.

MyOwnWay - 5-22-2008 at 10:15 AM

The SOIA shirt is in a different market. They are keeping up with the prices in the UFC demograph, not the Hardcore one.

OK...... I just think that $40 for a Tshirt in any market is insane. Im not saying that all shirts should be $10 or something, but I think there is a limit!

The only people that need to get paid off that shirt are SOIA and the guy whos name is on it. It doesnt have a UFC logo on it. That means that he could dictate the price and I think the price he dictated is to high.

We paid $30 for a Police shirt on their reunion tour and there was a HUGE line and tons of people buying things. As BD said, supply and demand.

But in the case of something like that there were a lot of 'hands in the pot'.

The Police got a %, the venue got a %, the record company probably got a % and possibly managers or a company that handled the merch.

With the case of the fighter guy and SOIA there are only 2 groups to get paid. I just think its greedy, but I guess its just me.

DaveMoral - 5-22-2008 at 08:45 PM

I'm sure UFC gets a cut of anything Randy Couture does. Supporting him, and SOIA by way of supporting him, is supporting the UFC. They're getting a healthy cut of that price tag, I'll wager.

Than thats a shitty deal for Randy because all its got on it is his name and SOIA. UFC doesnt deserve anything.

JawnDiablo - 5-22-2008 at 09:59 PM

it looks dumb and i wouldnt wear it if you paid me $40
blah
