HDMI?

XHonusWagnerX - 5-21-2008 at 07:03 PM

Ok... so I finally got a new TV. Its being delivered tomorrow, but they are not setting it up.

I know I need an HDMI cable for my cable box. I have a DVD player, but its a regular one, not a blueray or an upcoversion one. I have a VCR (I know laugh it up!) and I have my XBOX 360.

Question is.... Do I need a 'Special' Xbox HDMI cable for the 360 or can I use a regular HDMI cable?

Also..... is there anything else anyone can think of that I need?

I don't have a XBox, but my ps3 uses a regular HDMI cable.

Yup, regular HDMI will do the trick.

i have an xbox and use the regular high def composites and it's fine
since the xbox isn't always high def it's kind of a waste to use hdmi...
my tv only has 1 hdmi and it's for my cable box...
I guess I need a new tv

I think mine has 2 or 3 HDMI and I found a website that sells HDMI cables for $4.05 each for a 6' cable. I figure I might as well use the HDMI!

The newer 'Arcade', formely known as 'Core', now come with a standard HDMI port right under the Xbox A/V output.

EXACTYL! They are full of shit. Like I said, I am using an xbox HDMI cable for my PS3 (odd story as to why, pretty much I bought a kids used PS3 so he could buy a Xbox and does not have a hd tv so he gave me the HDMI cable). ANY HDMI cable works for ANY hdmi device.

Just look on the back of your box to see if you have a regular HDMI port under the Xbox A/V input. If you do you don;t need the Xbox HDMI adaptor. I actually have to return my box on Saturday casue MS is putting new Lite-On DVD drives in the new boxes that can't be flashed/modded

Thanks guys... I will check that out and try the regular HDMI cable!

Now once I plug in the HDMI will it be in HD or do I have to do something to the settings in the xbox?

Your Xbox should auto synch with your TV into the highest res that your TV supports.
