Love 'em or Hate 'em: H2O

BDx13 - 5-22-2008 at 01:39 PM

if you can think of other bands that people are passionate about one way or the other, start a similar poll.

we'll take a tally in a week or so of which band had the most votes and the most even split between love/hate.

I picked love, but thats a little strong.

Allthough, I dont think they are a hardcore band. I think they are a pop punk band at best.

I like H2O.
Seen them a few times and thought it was great.
I pick love.
I don't know what this new cd will be like.
I bought one so I'll soon see.
I'm waiting until it shows up and not gonna stream it.

Hate

Murk - 5-22-2008 at 06:06 PM

indifferent.

i listened to the stream of that new album for a couple of songs.

the music sounded ok, the vocals weren't that great to me, but i can totally see how it would translate live.

Indifferent. I liked Thicker Than Water way back when I first got into hardcore. Their like hardcore lite. I've just never been a big follower of them.

On that note, they're playing the Trocadero in Philly next week with Stigma.

tireironsaint - 5-22-2008 at 11:25 PM

It was actually a tough choice between Hate and Indifferent, but I went with Hate because if somebody were to stick that CD into a stereo of mine I would eject it and throw the damn thing away. I can admit that at one point I enjoyed them, but that was before they went from playing upbeat, bouncy hard core to being an annoying pop punk band. From what I've been told, they now want to go back to being a hc band, but that kind of trend jumping bullshit is more annoying to me than if they were just a pop punk band to begin with.

ONe of the greatest bands ever in hardcore etc in my eyes.

MyOwnWay - 5-23-2008 at 09:00 AM

I chose love. First time I saw them was in 95. It was their first time playing PA and my first time ever hearing of the band. They were incredible and at that time the most exciting and energetic band I ever saw. They have released music I wasnt into but overall I stay dedicated to them. I heard the new album at the video shoot and I was real into it. Its their best work in a while.

Good live show but the songs are a little light. I picked indifferent.
