I just got an external hard drive.
i was just wondering if anyone runs their itunes off an external hd?
is this even recommended?
any idea how to do it?
if not running off a external hd,
how would i at least back up my itunes with it?

Hmmm..... well I am borderline computer retarted so I dont think I can answer many questions about this because I didnt initually set it up....
However..... I can tell you that iTunes is on my MAIN PC harddrive, BUT all of my MP3s are on my external harddrive. So that tells you that it does in

I think that iTunes will copy your files to the iTunes library, so you end up saving everything twice (could be wrong... maybe just saves a link to
from iTunes to the original). So it seems like you should be able to move the iTunes library to the external HD and just save everything directly to

you can set up your music library anywhere you want. i can't tell you off hand how to do it but if you want help i can go through the steps with you
