joemaconmovies - 5-31-2008 at 07:29 AM

sent you a u2u

joemaconmovies - 5-31-2008 at 04:50 PM

dude, did you get it?

Dave - 5-31-2008 at 06:12 PM

i think he may have gone away for the weekend.....

joemaconmovies - 5-31-2008 at 06:15 PM

he's been on and off. i wanted to show him the music video i had finished

jonnynewbreed - 6-1-2008 at 09:25 AM

Just watched it. Don't usually even think to look at the U2U's when I log in.

As for the video: I love the redish hugh on everything, It really add's a nice contrast from the dark, basement like feel of the tune/video. Wicked job once again Joe. If i'm ever down in your neck of the woods I'd love to do a shoot with you.

As far as a new record goes I've been thinking about the direction I want to move in and I really miss playing in a strait up punk rock band. I can't really tour because of my job but I miss playing and recording.

Punk rock trio would be cool...even cooler would be a New Breed reunion show: hint hint.

Thanks for showing me the video. Thorpsters you are in for another treat from Mr. Macon.

upyerbum - 6-1-2008 at 09:31 AM

You guys get your shit together and we could set up a reunion show, with Frigg Off riding firmly on your coattails.

joemaconmovies - 6-1-2008 at 11:42 AM

i'd film a brand new New Breed video if the band would so let me and take the trip down here. i'll do it mega cheap.

actually jonny, when i said tour, i meant like playing like one show down in boston at some point. not a whole united states east coast tour.

jonnynewbreed - 6-1-2008 at 12:11 PM

Well I know for a fact that i'll be back in the Boston area next summer but I love the city and have some family down there so you never know.

Trust me Joe, you would be among the first to know when I am heading to town.

The darkbuster vid you did is one of my favorite videos of all time I think...I'm sure that part of it has to do with the fact that it is the catchiest song ever. I still find myself singing it from time to time.

What do you shoot with? I've always been interested in the process from a technological point of view.

joemaconmovies - 6-1-2008 at 12:27 PM

i use a canon xl2 in 16:9 format at 24 frames per second. i edit on a mac using final cut pro studio. i have to put together a dvd for you of all my videos man. i have a copy of them somewhere. i know which ones i'd include from but there are two very early ones i used a sony digital 8 on that is on my myspace for the eleventh hour if you wanted to check them out and see if you even wanted to bother with them.

joemaconmovies - 6-1-2008 at 12:32 PM

that reminds me, jonny, do you have any high quality versions of your two music videos and the one new breed video that i can put on my ipod. i can convert size if needed but if i don't have to it's a tiny bonus.

jonnynewbreed - 6-1-2008 at 03:38 PM

I'm a bit of a retard with converting vids, maybe i'll see if Dave can help me out on that. Dave. Can you assist your petarded friend?

joemaconmovies - 6-1-2008 at 07:22 PM

i didn't even pick up that reference.

Dave - 6-2-2008 at 07:01 AM

i'll see what i can do, i have the new breed vids (all of them......yes there are three....can you name them all Jonny?)

i can convert them to ipod format if you want.

but i don't have a copy of Jonny's vids.

and remember i'm still down for jamming some TNB tunes whenever, where ever.

joemaconmovies - 6-2-2008 at 07:19 AM

all i need them is in a decent sized (dimensions) and quality quicktime files. ipod conversions i can do.

3 vids? I know there was Lessons Learned, Streets of Gold and...

I have no clue. Was it shirt off at the Lahave bakery? That technically doesn't qualify as a music video, more like a live video.

Stumped.

joemaconmovies - 6-2-2008 at 08:25 AM

i tried to buy the ep off of thorp when it was on sale and cheap but they had none and so all i have is off the beaten path

jonnynewbreed - 6-2-2008 at 09:24 AM

they must have gone to the landfill. Let me see what I can do for you Joe.

joemaconmovies - 6-2-2008 at 10:51 AM

jonnynewbreed - 6-2-2008 at 01:11 PM

what was the video for Kickin and Screamin?

jonnynewbreed - 6-2-2008 at 01:12 PM

We should totally start another Myspace for the band seeing as though none of us have the password for the one THORP created for us.

Dave - 6-2-2008 at 01:18 PM

go for it Jonny!

Dave - 6-2-2008 at 01:22 PM

yup i have a 'video' for kickin', not sure where it came from, its just a bunch of fotage of us playing live, i think Brenden must have done it.

Remember, i have everything........and anything, recording wise......

jonnynewbreed - 6-2-2008 at 01:36 PM

Dave - 6-2-2008 at 01:44 PM

jonnynewbreed - 6-2-2008 at 01:48 PM

there you go, our next release. The New Breed - the early years.

It would suck really bad and be great for a laugh though.

Dave - 6-2-2008 at 01:53 PM

ohhh baby, a summer project!!

and do i have some shit........

Dave - 6-2-2008 at 01:58 PM

do up a myspace, and i'll find some live and jam recording we can put on there.......

like - the acoustic version of "Whiskey"

joemaconmovies - 6-2-2008 at 02:57 PM

they should all be covers of songs.

Dave - 6-2-2008 at 03:04 PM

ugh, we've done some shitty covers over the years......

worst ever list:

someones gonna die...

if you do an early years collection, it has to have live and studio jams of covers. pretty sure it's a rule. then disc two is the stuff everyone knows. or you could do the stuff people know to get them in and then hit them with the special covers portion.

jonnynewbreed - 6-2-2008 at 03:41 PM

the do run run was definitely the worst. The best was probably home for a rest.

Another worst was; I don't wanna hear it, Ultra Violence, Boys from the County Hell (never made it past the first couple jams).

Do you have a jam of "Lionels old women song"? That'd be awesome.

Dave - 6-2-2008 at 06:25 PM

i may...........
i think there was another pogues song that didnt make it past a jam or two

joemaconmovies - 6-2-2008 at 08:09 PM

dudes.....box set!

upyerbum - 6-2-2008 at 08:27 PM

Now, that I think of it, I've got about a half hour of you guys at The Seahorse, on video, I'll convert it to DVD. I'll have to dig it out, I can't remember how it turned out, cuz I was wasted when I recorded it. Oh to have the glory days of The Seahorse back.

Dave - 6-3-2008 at 06:57 AM

sweet i'd love to watch that Jeff.

hook me up
