Sasquatch & The Sickabillys (Really fucked up story)

XHonusWagnerX - 6-3-2008 at 07:45 PM

Dave 'Sasquach' just sent this email out.....

Hello all Friends, Fans, Family and Foes,

The following is an exact description of what happened to me on this past Sunday night leaving work between 1am and 1:30am...

THIS IS A FUCKED UP STORY AND I WILL NEVER FEEL SAFE AGAIN.
I thought this only happens in the movies...

I was working my final shift at Club Hell this past Sunday night and very tired and hungover from a crazy night in Boston the night before. I left the club and walked across the street to the parking lot where I sometimes park my van. I always park as close to where I am. I noticed in the corner of my eye that there were a few guys on the other side of the parking lot (parked on the one way side street (corner of Friendship St and Richmond St) and rememeber them being a little loud. Maybe a fight or just drunk night club idiots... I got into my van and had only one way out of the parking lot... which would force me to pass this car I mentioned. As I approached it there was only ONE guy standing outside of the car with his back to his open drivers side door, facing me. I looked at his left hand and noticed there was a gun in it. As I was getting closer and passing him he raised the gun higher to show ME while staring at ME and began to point it at ME. I SPED away and went down Richmond St all the while looking in my mirrors to see if I was being followed... I wasn't and saw several police at the small station across the street from the Providence Performing Arts Center and stopped to tell them there is a guy with a gun and to go check it out. I then drove away and went to the other side of Downtown to jump on Route 95 North. I noticed there was a car stopped on the on ramp letting cars go around it... when I went around it, it pulled out and stayed behind me with 'some' distance. I sped up a little and kept driving... I had a feeling it was following me... so, I took the School St exit to see if it would also. It did. I swung around fast and jumped back on Route 95 North. So did the car as it became MUCH MORE AGGRESSIVE and was CLOSELY behind me. I think it was a BMW. I immediately called 911 and while SCARED BEYOND MY WORST NIGHTMARE screamed into the phone for help. I jumped back off the highway onto Route 1a on the border of South Attleboro, MA as the car came up on my side, passed me and then started to slow down and try to make me stop. I then noticed it had a Virginia License Plate... I was still on the phone with 911... I saw an on-ramp to go back onto Route 95 South and waited for the car that was now in front of me (playing backwards chicken) pass the on-ramp, so I took it fast. The car backed up and got right behind me as I SPED back down the highway... still on the phone with 911... As the lanes where turning into one lane due to bridge construction the car was trying to get on the side of me to almost run me off the road. I saw a Pawtucket Police car and a State Police car parked with lights on near the road work. I FRANTICALLY honked my horn non stop and watched the State Trooper pull out right behind the car that was chasing me. The car took the next ramp and the Trooper followed him.
I kept driving back to Downtown Providence. I then re-called 911 to see if the car was stopped. They said it was. I asked the police on the phone if they could escort me home. As I asked this I saw a local Police Car pulling a speeding car over. I opened my window and said that I was sorry for bothering them and if they could help me home... still on the phone with 911... they told me to wait in a parking lot next to where I was and to wait for a State Trooper to arrive. I did. When he arrived, he asked me follow him to another parking lot. I did. I got out and got into his car. He brought me to the scene where the car was stopped. ALOT of POLICE cars were around his car and he was in the back of one of them. I do NOT know this person. Does he know ME?
I found out he is in the Navy in Virginia... he is 26. He had two other guys with him. One was black, one was white and he was white. I then got brought back to my van and had to follow the State Trooper to the State Police Barracks. I did. When I walked in, there were two girls sitting in the front hallway looking at me weird. I said, "Hi" as they smirked at me. They asked me, "What are you here for?" I said, "A guy with a gun was chasing me on the highway. They said, "Funny, we are here for the same reason." I asked, "What? That happened to you too?" They didn't answer as they looked at me even weirder. As if they knew me or something else... I placed my statement and was in there for a few hours (delirious and frightened). I got a State Trooper to follow me to my girls place and said, "Thank you for helping!"
I went back the next day and had to give the same statement as they recorded me talking. They said that the stories on either end do not match up. I swore I am FULLY telling the truth... because I am.
I also found out that the other two guys that were in the car were released right away and the two girls left and they held the one guy that pointed the gun at me and chased me. He was arraigned the next day and made bail and went back to his Navy base in Virginia today, I believe.
Since then, i have been on my knees, peeking out the window at EVERY car going by and jumping at EVERY little noise I hear. I am VERY mentally screwed up and am deciding if I should cancel my bands Summer Tour or hide or move away or...???
I don't know what to do. All I know is, I have hurt nobody and have behaved in life. I don't know who could hate me this much. I DON'T know what to do about tour. I DON'T know if this was planned or if I was in the wrong place at the wrong time... I DON"T KNOW how or why this guy(s) knew to wait on the Northbound highway ramp. Do they know me? They were VERY determined to hurt OR kill me. I am never going to feel safe again. PLEASE contact me if you have ANY info on this and/or ANY advice on if I should cancel my bands Summer Tour. I can't let my fans/friends down... BUT, I am beyond scared for my life.

Thank you,
Dave 'Sasquatch'

Holy cow! Some people are fucking crazy.

makes me kinda glad I went to see them saturday, even if it cost an arm and a leg.

It almost sounds like a case of mistaken identity. When I worked the door at bars, I used to get people coming up to me and talking to me like they had known me all my life, they'd always say I looked exactly like a friend of theirs, this happened frequently enough that I started asking what their friends name was, it was more than not some guy named Kurt. I eventually met Kurt and the guy looked nothing like me, but turns out he was a coke dealer. That gave me a bit of a chill in the "what if" department. But the strange thing was, I really looked nothing like the guy and was like 4 inches taller than him.

thats fucking crazy

I don't know where to begin with this. I am sending this to my boys in the club as we are huge Sasquatch supporters and happen to have a few mambers who are also in the Navy. Strange shit.

i'm curious as to the deal with the two chicks. you know, i hate to sound like i don't care, cause i do, but this could be inspiration for my movie. it's a real life story. just change it so it's not all in a car.

email #2

Dear AMAZING Friends, Family, Fans & Foes,

Tonight in Scranton, PA and tomorrow in South College, PA is cancelled. We are SOOOOOOO sorry!!! We owe you one for sure. We promise!!!

With all of this bullshit going on I have been held back from being ready and prepared to leave on time for tour (to say the least). I am actually still VERY nervous and I am NOT ashamed to show you all my sensitive side. I am not always an animal as you see me on the stage! I am going to truck on and I am going to play EVERY gig as if it's my last... just in case it is my last gig.

Thank you ALL for your emails. I am trying to answer them before tomorrow... I have received at least 500 in 2 days. You are all soooo fucking amazing. I am the luckiest motherfucker on this side of the Mason-Dixon line.

On a darker note... IF I am ever taken away from this Earth, I want you all to know what song to play/listen to for my remembrance:

'I've Got A Name' by, Jim Croce

It makes me cry EVERY time and sums up my mission in life to a certain point.

I love you all so much,
SASQUATCH MOTHERFUCKERS!!!

PS:
My Grandfather passed away this morning. He was a MAJOR musical influence on me. He taught me about jazz and how to be original and to be entertaining and has A LOT to do with my goofy side on stage. If you hear any Jazz influence in the way my songs or riffs are, it is because of him making me tapes (yes, cassettes) when I was younger of Louis Prima, Count Basie, Al Hurt, Benny Goodman, etc. to change me from my once limited METAL ONLY outlook. Living in Texas taught me Blues and Honky Tonk. I have always loved Zappa and The Doors and Beatles and Jim Croce and Simon & Garfunkel... I could go on forever!
Anyway, if you have the time today, Listen to a song for my Grandfather that reminds me of him and his personality. He would always sing the Italian part (he was Sicilian) to me... and to everyone in the restaurant or wherever we were at the time. HAHA He was a riot that entertained everyone he crossed paths with and would give his last $50 to a stranger in need... I've seen him do it SEVERAL times!!!
He was AMAZING and I want to be amazing, JUST LIKE HE WAS.

Go listen to (Get it on iTunes):

'Medley: Angelina/Zooma Zooma' by, Louis Prima

You'll feel a little what it was like to know my Grandfather. Frank was his name.
I love you Grandpa Frank, forever. This tour and my life is dedicated to you.

Mark Lind - 6-7-2008 at 02:50 PM

It sounds like typical bullshit by meat heads that are looking for trouble after the bars get out.

joemaconmovies - 6-7-2008 at 03:56 PM

i agree with mark. or a case of mistaken identity by some drunken idiots cause us punk lookin' dudes all kinda look the same when you're smashed at some point.
