I know it takes thought but it came to me because I was going through my cd's and jamming out some stuff I haven't listened too in a long time. If I had a all time favorite list this would be it.

CR83 - 4-6-2005 at 12:41 PM

Cool man. It's always nice to go through old album and rock it. I'm a sucker for Twisted Sister. I have no idea why. Great idea Bro.

clevohardcore - 4-6-2005 at 12:43 PM

hahahaahahaha I got that record. Twisted sister. The album cover is legendary.

CR83 - 4-6-2005 at 12:46 PM

I owned like 4 or 5 of their albums when I was younger. I was a total Mark for them. I found like a "Greatest Hits" type of CD one time and I listen to it at least once a month. Dee Snider. He's awesome.

GabeTexasGAMC - 4-6-2005 at 02:48 PM

all i know is that my childhood was ruled by BON JOVI, RATT, TWISTED SISTER, METALLICA, DRI, SUBHUMANS, MISFITS, DEAD KENNEDYS, DEADHORSE
The song that takes me back, and makes me feel like the 16 year old i was is prbably SUBHUMANS - ANIMAL

The "Jover", Ratt and TS? Gabe, I'm shocked all the while impressed with you honesty.

Once I got out of the "metal" sort of things I was all Misfits and Exploited.

clevohardcore - 4-6-2005 at 04:26 PM

htis thread was supposed to be all about looking abck and listing some great tracks from your past. Give it time and tell us what made your past so awsome or shitty or whatever.

defstarsteve - 4-6-2005 at 04:59 PM

my favorite song that takes me way back is wild in the streets by circle jerks...
just reminds me of being 12 and skating... and doing nothing else
they used it in the movie thrashin.... in the night scene when he was being chased by the daggers thru the underground parking garage

and it has always stuck wth me

SAAAAARS - 4-6-2005 at 11:02 PM

life of agony: river runs red just puts all the problems and troubles of your "youth" into one, and the music with keith singing over it is amazing

clevohardcore - 4-11-2005 at 02:40 PM

I do not understand life of agony. I disliked them for years but then I got that best of about a couple years ago. Not bad but I could never get into them. I know they have rep and all but that singing it wears on me. It's almost amusing to hear him sing.

crazyfists28 - 4-12-2005 at 04:53 PM

i think keith caputo (loa) has one of the most unique and strong voices in music, yes, it doesnt fit in with hardcore or metal but man it givesm me goosebumps when he sings live, little guy like that can belt out songs that i could only hope to sing, but thats just me, so to each his own...peace

clevohardcore - 4-30-2005 at 03:21 PM

I have to mention that GBH - GIVE ME FIRE is one of the best songs ever in the history of PUNK/HARCORE. If their was ever a REAL documentary that song should the the song they intro the movie with.

Mark Lind - 4-30-2005 at 04:35 PM

alright... here I go:

1) Guns N' Roses - Appetite for Destruction
2) Guns N' Roses - Lies
These were the only two tapes I listened to at all for years. I didn't care about hearing any other bands and when I hear these I feel like I'm 12-14 again.
3) Rancid - Life Won't Wait
1998..... great year. Every other CD took a backseat to this one for the whole year.
4) Green Day - Dookie
Senior year in high school
5) Black Crowes - Shake Your Money Maker
In highschool I had this on cassette and it got stuck in my walkman so I had no choice but to listen to this tape or nothing. My walkman also played everything a pitch too fast so this tape kicked ass. I went out and bought the CD a few years later to get back into it and it was so slow that I was dissappointed. I didn't realize that the tape was playing fast back then and I thought they just rocked that much harder
6) Bruisers - Cruisin for a Bruisin
If it weren't for this CD I never would have started playing music.... actually I had the cassette first.... I still have it on its original label. I learned all my bass playing tricks from Ritchie Bruiser and Duff McKagan. I hardly ever listen to it any more but its still a classic when I do.
7) Bruce Springsteen - Born in the USA
It partially reminds me of 1985 when my mother was into it and partially of 1997 when I got my own copy. Bruce is by far my favorite recording artist and this is his most upbeat and happy CD but it has some dark lyrics too. When I put this on then it makes life feel better.
8) The Replacements - All For Nothin
My favorite CD of the past 5 years. Shitty times, at times, but this has been the soundtrack to all of it.
9) Waltham - demos
If you're from Boston then you know Waltham is this band that sounds like Rick Springfield and they do all these cheesey things with a serious face. Their songs are great though if you can get past the image. My girlfriend was really into them when I met her 5 years ago so this reminds me of her..... ranked #9 because it isn't really MY soundtrack but I think of her when I hear them. Them and "Oh Darling" by the Beatles.
10) Dropkick Murphys - demo, 7"s through Do or Die
Awesome times. Mike McColgans' voice makes me feel like I'm 18 again.

viva hate - 4-30-2005 at 06:57 PM

'i was wrong' social distortion covers alot of years

clevohardcore - 5-1-2005 at 03:20 PM

Ya after this thread I got WHITE LIGHT etc and it does kick ass. Aslo I ahve been jamming the ST social D this past week more often. They get better the older I get.;)

GOLD GRILL - 5-1-2005 at 11:15 PM

My most memorable song was Prison Bound or really anything by Social Distortion. I spent about half of my highschool life sitting in my room grounded. So i learned EVERY social distortion song on guitar. I mean solos and everything, haha. Anyways, here's the rest of the list
1. Dinosaur Jr., Where You Been
2. Obituary, The end Complete
3. Carcass, Heartwork
4. Mighty Bostones, Ska Core........
5. Seven Seconds, Old School
6. Biohazard, Urban Discipline
7. Minor Threat, Discography
8. Seaweed, Weak
9. Pixies, Bossonova
10. Liz Phair, Whip Smart

clevohardcore - 5-2-2005 at 02:43 PM

I got ot pick up some dinosaur JR. I remember all the smart kids I hung around loved that band. I never gave them a chance but I bet i would like them more now. Just because I am more mellow. Also good call on the PIXIES bossanova. That album is awsome.

Discipline - 5-2-2005 at 03:15 PM

I've heard of Dinosaur Jr. a million times over the years but never got around to checking them out. They any good? What do they sound like?

jason kills - 5-2-2005 at 03:26 PM

strife - in this defiance - blistered
