Thorp and Sailor's Grave Board

Gore/Shock Movies

Siczine.com - 6-26-2008 at 02:40 PM

I know a lot of you guys are huge movie buffs and really know your shit.

Is there anything else out there that I need to see aside from some of the best. I've already seen some of the staples but I'm sure there are many more:

Flowers of Flesh and Blood (and all of the other Guinea Pig movies Mermaid In A Manhole was pretty awesome)
Irreversible
Ichi The Killer
Cannibal Halocaust
Nekromantik
Man Behind The Sun
Salo: 120 Days of Doom
etc,.

I've have heard/read about Cutting Moments and August Underground's Mordum, both are considered two of nastiest films put out but haven't seen them.

[Edit: Just ordered August Underground's Mordum off their website]

If you want to see a really fun, bloody movie check out Black Sheep. It's pretty damn funny. The all time classic would be Dead Alive.

I've only seen Irreversible so far, I got all the movies in that top 10 now though so I'll be watching them eventually. I had a sneak peak at some and there's really no story line, just hacking bodies for the hell of it. Keen to finally see Ichi though.

I'll have to check that out!

JawnDiablo - 6-26-2008 at 03:59 PM

Ichi is pretty sick.
I have copies of 2 August Underground things but haven't watched them.
Dead Alive is one of my favorites of all time from the genre

What did you think? Personally I loved the entire theme of the movie. The name Irreversible fits the movie perfectly; from chrologoical order of the movie to the deeds that were done. The camera/edit work was extremely well done. And Alex is soooooo fucking hot, what an ass on her!

SS76 - 6-26-2008 at 04:24 PM

Terror Firmer
Redneck Zombies
Cradle of Fear
Bloodsucking Freaks
Blood Feast 1 and 2
The Necro Files......all worth seeing if you haven't. Necro Files and Terror Firmer are my favorites.

DAK - 6-26-2008 at 04:50 PM

How about Re-animator??

SS76 - 6-26-2008 at 04:53 PM

One of my all time favorites. I watch it literally atleast once a week.

morgan - 6-26-2008 at 05:14 PM

I'll name a few off for you. Some are already on here but fuck it.

Dead Alive
Irreversible
Audition
Versus
Ichi the Killer
Natural Born Killers

And my top pick:
Kitchiku Dai Enkai
Has a scene that involves 2 words that shouldn't be used in the same sentence let alone the same scene in a movie: shotgun and vagina.... Just let that sink in for a bit.

SS76 - 6-26-2008 at 05:20 PM

I immediately added the shotgun vagina movie to my netflix. sounds awesome.

Siczine.com - 6-26-2008 at 06:32 PM

I need to invest in a new copy of Ichi The Killer, the copy I have has the worst voiceovers, its like a bunch of Arnold's talking.

And I too will be netflixing that movie, I hope to god I get to see a detailed scene of a shotty blow up a vagina, that'd rule.

And I know it's not a gore movie but I would call it somewhat of a shock movie, Gummo. Anyone who saw it, what's your opinion. I think it's pretty decent.

gavin - 6-26-2008 at 06:41 PM

an interesting (not really) thing aboout me........i HATE these tyoe of movies
people always seem suprised when i tell them that for some reason
horror movies or whatever really bore the fuck out of me
ive tried a million times
just hate them for some reason

BDx13 - 6-26-2008 at 07:04 PM

same. there's no entertainment value in horror / gore / whatever films for me.

defstarsteve - 6-26-2008 at 07:18 PM

good list so far

I couldn't make it thru gummo
I have lived in some pretty god dmansmall towns in my time, and those people exist even today
and I just had to turn it off...

dudes getting tortured by sexy women not a problem... not real by any means
idiots tourturing animals in realistis situations and inbreeding, horrifying

SS76 - 6-26-2008 at 07:36 PM

gummo.....got it on video....fucked up...cool soundtrack, had some brujeria, sleep and electric hellfire club on it

Discipline - 6-26-2008 at 08:56 PM

Dead and Breakfast. Funny as hell. Zombie line dancing. Need I say more?

SS76 - 6-26-2008 at 08:59 PM

I own dead and breakfast. definately worth checking out. and if you haven't seen Tetsuo the Iron Man.....yeah....you should.

morgan - 6-26-2008 at 10:33 PM

Suicide Circle is another fucked up one. Gets pretty bizarre though.

Voodoobillyman - 6-27-2008 at 02:05 AM

Wizard of Gore
Maniac
Demons
Demons 2
City of the Dead
Seven doors of death
Zombie

alot of the italian stuff from the 70's and 80's Fulci, Argento, Bava....all gore laden.

Siczine.com - 6-27-2008 at 02:54 PM

The Wizard of Gore looks interesting.

And I love me some 70/80's Italian flicks.

XnMeX - 6-27-2008 at 05:57 PM

I fuckin love gummo... Not a horror / gore film, but deffinetly horrafying. I made this gummo painting for a friend...

Siczine.com - 6-27-2008 at 06:11 PM

^ That shit looks awesome!

MikeFromInhuman - 7-1-2008 at 02:40 PM

Sick and great French films:

INSIDE
FRONTIER(S)
TROUBLE EVERY DAY ( with Vincent Gallo)
CALVAIRE ( French/Belgian)
I STAND ALONE (fron the director of Irreversible, Gaspar Noe)

Good New-ish American Horror:

THE LOST
THE GIRL NEXT DOOR

FYI - I own the FAMILY PORTRAITS dvd short film trilogy....fucking OUT OF CONTROL! Soo disturbing! The director is from Long Island, NY - Douglas Buck.

Have you read the books? 'The girl next door' was the first book I read by Jack Ketchum and was instantly hooked on him. 'The Lost' movie was almost EXACTLY like the book.

Also a super awesome dude, met him a few times at different horror conventions. Always super friendly and even has a great attitude when I told him I thought one of his books sucked.

MikeFromInhuman - 7-1-2008 at 03:42 PM

Yes, I read both THE LOST and TGND and loved them both.
I actually bought RED today!

Horror people who like to read: GET INTO JACK KETCHUM and BRIAN KEENE.

Siczine.com - 7-1-2008 at 03:48 PM

Just got a message from Starkweather on Myspace with some movies to add to the list:

Inside / french flick (dimension extreme)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ldUsz12kSQU

Naked Blood aka Splatter (Nekeddo burâddo: Megyaku) [My favorite of the bunch]
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RngRvYP8FFw

Rubber's Lover
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j0TOooBQ6uI

Tokyo Gore Police

Red is the book I didn't like. Let me know what ya think. (I'm well aware I'm a pain in the ass to please)

Also, check out Joe Knetter and Edward Lee.

MikeFromInhuman - 7-2-2008 at 09:19 AM

So far I am loving RED. Depressing though.

Ketchum and Keene have restored my love of the horror novel. Havent been reading this many horror books since the early 90's.
