I was just watching CNN and because of the 3 largest banks in the US are 75% declined in value and some people are pulling there savings and shit out of them. It was a mad rush at some banks in California. Like the movie "IT'S A WONDERFUL LIFE" AND SHIT. I'm starting to get apprehensive.

Plus people in in states are now seeing $5 a gallon gas popping up.

every minute of everyday
there are few people on here who own their own business...
but it's scary as hell right now...

and I used to have on average of 50 orders in at a time all the time
we are down around 20...

very few bands are touring like they did...
and white we might be great qualtiy withthe lowest prices, it doens't matter if no one has any money to buy...

if your economy keeps going down, come to Panama, we have the lowest taxes of the region, lots of women, good food and pretty much everything is cheaper here and if you bring your money to invest, you'll probably end up becoming rich, go for the properties and real states investments, that's really hot right now...

I'm not worried to much. I dont drive so gas isnt much of an issue for me other then paying for heat in the winter. My business is fine. Work comes in when I need it and once I'm done with a few projects others come up shortly after. However if the price of D&D Ice Coffee keeps going up I'm probably gonna flip the fuck out. :crazy:

I'm just sick of hearing it, $1AUD now gets you $0.98US which is fucking awesome, I'm going on a shopping spree when I get my taxes done & salary increase at the end of this month.

I just want them to admit the country is in a recession and stop prancing around like it's not.

like steve, i worry about the ability to consistently generate new business. but part of that is my nature in general. my wife and i have plenty of experience living low, so ratcheting down expenses and saying 'no' is easy enough for us.

i try to keep a level head and tell myself that markets are cyclical and that things will come around, but there are definitely a few other unique cycles working against us elsewhere in the world (ie, huge growth in china and india).

Not to be a prick......but, we're already paying 5.45 a gallon, so my heart isn't exactly breaking, its tough times, but it'll hit the states last (and possibly worst because of the standard of consumption most Americans are used to). They're paying upwards of 9.46 a gallon in Europe right now.

yes, but i think part problem here is that the cost of gas has doubled in the past 18 months, which is a pretty sudden and significant increase in the cost of doing business. That in turn, is affecting every other aspect of our economy. In Europe (and Canada, apparently) expensive gas has been part of the equation for some time, so that expense has long been factored into the cost of doing business.

I always laugh when I see US news saying how bad gas prices are at $4-5/gallon. Europe is definately worse off and has been for years, and down here we're paying $1.70/L which is over $6/gallon. Diesel is nearly $2/L as well so it's killing the price of food (combined with record drought), and real estate looks like its finally cooling off. Average rent in this area alone went from $400/month to $1200/month from January to July, 6 months.

I have some people who drive like 70 miles into work each day and I think they're nuts.
I drive 20 each way and it's pretty much my limit for the max i want to commute.
probelem is my company is moving in 2 years and the commute will almist double.

I drive....from my bedroom to my living room/office...
0 commute

we drive about 400 miles every 2 weeks just doing normal shit...
and that is about a tank of gas in our '08 accord
getting about 22 mpg in the city
and gas is about $4.50 a gallon right now so about $80.00 a tank to fill up

food prices haven't really haven't gone up for us, but were vegetarians so it's alays been more expensive for us to eat.

our rent sucks ass right now, but we are talking to our landlord today as our lease is up.
and telling him drop the rent or we are out
we pay $2900.00 a month right now, and for a grand less we can get almost twice the space we have less then a mile away from the water in san diego which is a way better city then L.A.

so if anything the housing problems have allowed for better rental prices in so. cal...
but it still don't bring in customers for shit...

I drive about 10 miles round trip Monday - Friday. Then just around town on the weekends. I live in a suburb town , so most store are pretty close by. I fill up every other weekend. It cost me around 60 bucks last time. So about 120 - 140 a month.

luckily my civic is pretty good on the gas if i drive it reasonably.
200 miles to and from work each week.
probably 50-60 running errands.
$35-$40 a week for gas
$120-$140 a month depending on where I go.
15,000 miles a year roughly.

I saved $800 a month and I don't have to fucking move again...
I'll take it.

also I still own a 4 bedroom house in Pittsburgh
our mortgage payment is $535.00 a month including insurance and taxes...

so price is not the main factor in my decisions it's quality of life...
so-cal is where I grew up and has anything I could want or need...

It takes me jsut over 30 minutes to drive to CSU in downtown. That shit will be rediculous 3 days a week starting on august 23rd. PLusmy car is a lease and we are already high on the miles.
