getting a credit report?

Anyone here ever get a credit report?

I've never had a credit problem and I'm not looking to get a mortgage or loan or anything, but I would like to check my credit report and see if there are any old credit card accounts that I have forgotten about (and should close) or anything that seems weird on there.

I know there is that website 'FreeCreditReport.com' but its not actually free. You have to sign up for something to get the report.

So.... whats the best way to go about getting one, even if it means paying a one time fee that would be better than signing up for some service to me.

the gov't recently mandated that everyone should be able to review their credit report free of charge once a year. this is a very good idea regardless of your financial plans. the official site is: www.annualcreditreport.com

thanks BD! I knew there had to be a way to get it for free. I ran all 3 reports and a few things look weird, but nothing involving credit or money. They have an address in Jamacia Plain, MA that I never lived at listed for me. Weird....

I recommend everyone do it and look for cellphone companies!!!!

I have been hit a few times by cell phone companies to someone in Brooklyn.
