NEVER hit up MAD.
Mike, you can book solo yourself too and just inform MAD of the dates so I would recommend doing as much of that as possible dude cause they are a
fucking nightmare.
I'll do a Dublin show for you, possibly Cork and Belfast too but no way im dealing with MAD again. So get onto me if you are interested. mahbrain at

word
please pass this around in future...
Don't deal with MAD or Avocado.
they don't book hardcore shows they book rock shows with HUUUUGE guarantees that no self respecting diy promoter would even look twice at.

They provide a needed service for bands I think but its just overboard. I wanted to book bloodclot for August but they wanted $2350 for one show.
Fuck.No.
Then they wanted flights, food, accommodation and gear. Would have cost me about 3000 dollars to put that gig on. JJ is my boy and all and I want to
do it but no one can afford that shit.
And you think that's bad? You wanna hear what they were asking for Agnostic Front. Holy fucking shit.
I will use them in the future if I can get a good price from em and its a workable date but in general they charge a fuckton and offer only the
shittest midweek dates while keeping all the weekends for their own country (germany) and the festivals etc.

I'm gonna use this as anexcuse to sound off a bit as i can see we are on the same page, bombidol.
we are kinda lucky here in London as a fairly big venue here (The Underworld) seems to have a deal with MAD where they will always hook them up even
if nobody has heard of them (and sometimes this is the only chance we'll get to see such bands) but I've had the misfortune of playing a few of these
gigs and where we've supplied the backline for the touring bands, even sold tickets in advance for the show and then been paid about £10 for our
trouble because the touring band has some guarantee of like £800 or something absurd.
Hell, even FVK, Leeway and Merauder basically played to a crowd of about 20 or 30 people because the tour gets booked through MAD or Avocado and they
don't deal with any grassroots, real DIY promoters.
More bands need to be prepared to contact the promoters here directly instead of going through "booking agents" who charge like £600 for a pretty much
unheard of band and then they still want hotels, free drinks, food etc
There's been a lot of debate about this on the mainland (UK) recently as there seems to be a pattern forming.
None of the established promoters will have anything to do with these shows so they end up having some 15 year old try hard myspace kid wanting to
make a name for themselves say 'yeah cool i'll do a show' and then they end up getting marched to the cashpoint and having to cough up like £400!
I recently did a show in London for Bitter End, Meltdown and 50 Lions. The guarantee for ONE show was £600.
Well that's what the 'tour booker' asked for.
On the night, the 'tour booker' was nowhere to be seen and the bands looked kinda stunned when I told them how much I'd been asked to pay them. You
gotta wonder how much the 'tour booker' takes into his own pocket after these kinda shows....
Best bet if you wanna hit up the UK is make a decent bond with some people over here and take it from there.
I know full well that if one of my boys bands like Wisdom in Chains or Stout come over here, we'll do our damnedest to put together a great show but I
ain't prepared to put my neck on the line for a band that's never been to europe before and they have some guy asking for like hundreds and hundreds
of pounds.
It just doesn't look good and once word gets about the fairly small collective of promoters over here, that band's name will get blacklisted as being
money hungry wanna be rockstars.
Just to clarify, none of this aimed at any band in particular so Mike, please don't think I'm blasting you here!
I'm only stating what a lot of people are feeling here in the uk at the moment.
I know promoters who can always pack out shows and pretty much all of them have sworn to never work with another booking agency again.
Just a heads up to those bands across the pond who'd like to play here.
Basically, do the right thing and try and make some connections instead of relying on some 'tour booker' to do with for you as unless you already have
a LOT of media coverage you'll only end up hating the UK and the UK won't be too impressed with you either!

Gar, Chris from DO OR DIE is also booking the dates, so please hit up DOD on myspace ok?
I appreciate the concern.
Unfortunately, Inhuman doesnt have the time or means or connections right now to book a European tour, so we have to go through an agency.
If you can help, please do.
Cheers
