My grandmother is sick and at this point probably not going to get better. There are things that the doctors say they can do, but it would require
doing some tests and she refuses to go for anything. So insted she complains about stuff, but is fully aware that shes in control of the situation. Im
VERY close with her and I have complete respect for her when Im talking to or dealing with her, but damn its frustrating!!
My mom lives in the same building as her, but my mom is such a fuck up that she cant do anything for her. I've been doing most of the stuff for my
grandmother and a friend she has in the building has been doing the rest.
My mom is such a fucking asshole that the other day she went up to see how my grandmother was at about 4:00pm. My grandmother said she hadnt eaten and
was hungry and would like some toast. So what does my mom do? She says... "Okay... Im tired so I'm going to go home and sleep for awhile. Call me at
6:30 and Ill come back and make toast". My grandmother was so stunned by it that she didnt know what to say, so she said nothing.
Today my grandmother wanted to take a shower, but wanted someone there incase she got dizzy (even though she has a shower stool now because I bought
it for her on Saturday). My mom said "I'm really not feeling well today so well have to do it another day". WHAT THE FUCK!?!?
Its because of shit like that, that I will do anything my grandmother needs done or get anything she wants, but I dont care if my mom wants something
that they sell at the same store I'm going to for my grandmother. I dont care if she wants the same stuff Im getting for my grandmother... she can go
herself! Its no my problem that she doesnt drive and has been leeching rides off my grandmother for the last 5+ years.
It really sucks when on top of someone you care about being sick, your forced to realize that you mom is a useless, self-absorbed, know-it-all,
selfish bitch!

Sorry to hear this. That's a bad situation with your mom. You're a good man for taking care of your grand mother. Hang in there.

ugh, that's tough.
first off (and i think i've suggested this before), cut mom outta the picture.
just don't even deal with her.
tell grandma if she needs anything to call you.
does anyone have power of attorney or handle her finances for her?
can she afford a home health care aide?
the stubborn part you're not gonna get around.
i my experience, ya kinda just gotta be stubborn back.
"you can complain about whatever it is you're complaining about, or we can go see the doc."
my grandmother was the same way - didn't want to deal with whatever the issue was, but wouldn't go to the doc about it.

Ya man it sounds like you have a level head. Life is tough enough when others make things even harder. DO what is most important and the rest will
work itself out.
