This week Jason Bennett & the Resistance are doing their Mission Hill Little League Benefit shows at Church, the old Linwood, at 19 Kilmarnock Street in the Fenway. Admission is free both nights but they will be doing a raffle for the benefit as well as taking voluntary donations.

8/14 - Jason Bennett & the Resistance, the Scars, Super Power
8/15 - Jason Bennett & the Resistance, Vagiant, Confront

The story behind the show:

Since 1999, Jason Bennett and his former band Suspect Device have hosted an annual benefit for the Mission Hill Little League. Mission Hill residents Bennett, and his wife Kristen (Mad Cat Productions) have continued to host free rock ‘n roll shows to collect money for the kids in their neighborhood just about every summer since the inception of the idea.

Over the past 9 years, Bennett’s efforts have raised many thousands of dollars for the Mission Hill Little League. Last year, the event raised enough money to sponsor three CITYWIDE teams. Go teams "Resistance"!!!!

This past season, The Mission Hill Little League fielded 12 teams and over 200 players ages 7 to 12, and is one of the oldest continually operating Little Leagues in the City of Boston.

This is very commendable. Why don't things like this ever come to light in the mainstream press?

Yeah, Jason has been doing these for a long time and it has really gotten to the point of being a very successful event. We're definitely excited to be taking part this year.
