It depends on the type of league you play in. For instance in Yahoo's leagues all you do is draft your players, though most leagues have automated
drafts where the CPU picks the best available player. This is often a bad thing because sometimes that player is out and the computer doesn't factor

All leagues have their own scoring, your mean objective is to bench a player when he's on a bye week or if his play has been bad lately.
If you don't know football well, you're best bet is an automated draft. And really when it comes down to it you just have to look at the statistics.
Running back's always produce the most points, then the QB, then WR. If you had the first pick you'd be better off picking someone like Ladanian

with even a little football knowledge, fantasy football isnt to hard to get.
you draft a team.
each week you start a team
consisting of....
1 - Quarterback
2 - Runningbacks
2 - Wide Receivers
1 - Runningback or Wide receiver
1 - Tight End
1 - Kicker
1 - Defense / Special Teams
( thats the starting lineup on ESPN free leagues )
then you get points
based on different categories.
to get an idea about doin a fantasy football draft

THORP fantasy football league
Register here. I created 10 team league so hopefully we can find 9 more people. Draft is at 11:45 Wednesday night. If you can't make it at least
pre-set your picks or you can let the site do it for you. This was the only time availabe and I think DOG needed it to be later in the evening.
Hopefully this worked. We could't do it thursday since football starts that evening.
