E.Town Concrete reunion show

BDx13 - 10-15-2008 at 10:25 AM

As recent rumors have suggested, New Jersey's E.Town Concrete will indeed reunite for a show early next year. The show will take place at the Starland Ballroom in Sayreville, NJ on February 21st. Doors open at 6pm and tickets (which go on sale Friday) are $25 in advance. The band, which broke up in 2006, has yet to comment.

e-town concrete had some cool songs... but $25 seems a bit too expensive...

with so many bands & people hating rap/hardcore I dont understand why these guys seem to get a free pass.

clevohardcore - 10-15-2008 at 12:11 PM

They get a free pass because they are good. Especially in such a shitty genre/style they actually are good.

I had no idea they even broke up. I know they never did well and they did tour constantly. I guess its been a while since they played anywhere.

No thanks.

i saw them once and they were boring as hell.

XHonusWagnerX - 10-15-2008 at 12:33 PM

to be honest, I like some of that genre (and years back I liked a bunch of it) and I never really got into E-Town.

E-Town is hit or miss for me. Some of their stuff is just ok, most of it actually...however, I think the renaissance album is probably the best rap/rock/metal album ever.

Live they were boring.

BDx13 - 10-15-2008 at 12:46 PM

i was never a fan, but i thought some here were.

Loved these guys on and off for years.
Some of their stuff is weak, other stuff is real good.
definitely the best band doing the rapcore thing.
after many years i eventually got to see 'em live when i was visiting a few years back and they were really disappointing.
They were tight and very much like the cds but there was something missing.

Good band. Saw them live once and they were ok, but not as good as I would have hoped.

What bands are you talking about? Back when E Town was doing it in the 90's there weren't many hardcore/hip hop acts that I know of.

The split with Second To None was tits, Time to Shine was tits, Second Coming was pretty good too. Didn't get down with much of their newer material though, still isn't bad though.

Either way this band was doing the hip hop/hardcore mix before it become popular, and they did it fucking good.

I had a band that did it when I was still in highschool and that was 1991-1992. Back then we would listen to Helmet/House of Pain, Biohazard/Onyx, Infectious Grooves (I know thats not rapcore, but its similar to me), Are We Dead Yet?! and some others that I cant think of right now.

MADE FOR WAR is awesome. Renessaince was kind of ok and second coming was awesome. The ones before that i never even heard but they played songs from them live and it rocked.
