Thorp and Sailor's Grave Board

Ramallah - Oscar Cotton

Monkey_Julius_BoWaffle - 10-19-2008 at 02:52 AM

Can anyone help me out with this, I'm trying to learn this one on guitar, but I don't think my tuning is correct. Is Rob tuning to C? Drop C maybe? The beginning reminds me so much of Slayer's "Seasons In The Abyss" for some reason. All the other Ramallah/BFB tracks, I have figured out rather easily, but for some reason this one just isn't sounding right the way I'm playing it. I'm missing a note/lick here and there or something.

Thanks for any help guys....

Ok, I tuned down to C - and I'm translating it to chords. This sounds right: verses - Am - F - G. For the chorus - F - C - G and on the last line maybe F - C - Am.

Kinda like this:

Am F G
If I could painlessly murder us all
Am F G
then there would be no more children crying
Am F G
to our deaf God up above.

then power chord this before second verse:

F-G-G#-A

(same pattern as above for this verse):
If I could painlessly murder the world
then there would be no more children crying:
then there would be no more children crying at all.

F C G
I want to hide in an opium sunrise.
F C G
I'd rather fly than feel the pain.
F C G
I want to die in a heroine sunrise.
F C Am
Go on and spike spike spike my vein...

haven't started work on the "drop it - so sick........" part yet, prob. somewhat the same kind of pattern(s).

Also haven't started trying to figure out the little riffs that are actually played, I'm just putting it together with open chords and/or bar chords right now first then I'll start breaking it into the actual riffs.

This sound sorta/kinda correct to any of you other guitarists here?

I think this is one of Rob's greatest songs and I'm really trying to put together my own little unique version of it but I want to figure it out properly first.

Hell, I'll probably sit down and work out all the "Kill A Celebrity" tracks in the next few weeks. I've been playing this album non-stop for the past few months it seems and would love to work it all out so I can sit down with the ole acoustic and have fun just singing/playing the songs........

Edited to add - the chord letters didn't post above the actual word where the note changes for some reason, but hopefully if you wanna try to play it this way, you can figure the chord changes out at the correct places.........
