I think the iPod is an amazing invention that I am very happy to own, but there are a couple of things I wish it did.
#1 I wish you could delete things off it without having it connected to a computer/iTunes.
#2 I wish that there was a folder in it for 'recently added' like there is in iTunes.
I have an 80 gig and currently I have...
10928 songs
365 MB of open spaceBDx13 - 10-23-2008 at 01:17 PM
1. from a technical standpoint, this should be doable. apple just hasn't allowed for it. the sync that occurs when you plug in should not only work
both ways, but also recognize items removed from the remote device. for example, you can download a song directly to your iphone, and it will sync
with your pc when you connect next.
2. you could do this. in itunes, create a smart playlist that is the X-number of most recently added tracks. or tracks added within the last
X-number of days. then make sure the playlist syncs to your ipod and your set.clevohardcore - 10-23-2008 at 01:17 PM
I a 80 GB with about 40GB left. I don't have all my stuff on it but most of it is.
I love it too and i agree with your ideas. Also I would add instead of the scroll with the bandnames you shoudl ahve the option of band name text.
Instead of a plain text METALLICA. It would be cool if it had grafix for text. Like MISFITS has there text patent.BDx13 - 10-23-2008 at 01:17 PM
i have recently added on my ipod
i dont know how it got there but its thereBDx13 - 10-23-2008 at 02:03 PM
i think it's actually a default smart playlist that comes with itunes when you first install it.
you can edit it to whatever parameter you want.CR83 - 10-23-2008 at 03:08 PM
I love mine. I just have a 1G. It doesn't have a display and I don't care. It rules.moron - 10-23-2008 at 03:13 PM
I have a Creative Touch or something like that. 40 gigs. I haven't really used it much since moving to CT, but it's cool. I can delete stuff right
from the player itself. The program that comes with the thing kinda sucks though. It's confusing and took me a while to figure out. I bought the
Creative because I didn't want to have an ipod like everyone else.
That's all I can really add to this thread.JawnDiablo - 10-23-2008 at 03:29 PM
I have the Ipod shuffle that I won on here years ago.
thanks again thorp dudes.
for some reason there is stuff on there that i can't remove taking up space.
it doesnt come up in i tunes or real player, but if i plug it into my upconvert dvd player's usb port it shows a folder with what i would figure was
corrupted files.
anyone know how to get rif of this shit?
i'm super new to this stuff.
My son won a first generation nano a few years back and i cant even get it to turn on anymore.
gonna take it to the dreaded apple store i suppose,....Dave - 10-23-2008 at 03:49 PM
i have an 80 gig, i got it a few months ago, love it. perfect for the car, nothing like being able to listen to whatever i want when i want........
I got the 160 gig in february, over 82 gigs used with 21,512 songs. If I ever think of a cool song, its nice to know I probably have it wherever I am;
versus my old 30 disk portable cd cases I took everywhere. Also got the 2gb shuffle for work with only BFB, Ramallah, and Sinners and Saints. Music I
never get sick of hearing.DAK - 10-23-2008 at 05:18 PM
I have a 160GB ipod with 21,182 songs and 40.2GB free.random - 10-23-2008 at 06:42 PM
My 80G went missing yesterday. Somebody will be unpleasantly surprised when they hear what's on it. Fucker deserves it.XHonusWagnerX - 10-23-2008 at 06:47 PM

maybe a better compression rate? BD always used to talk about shitty bitrates.DAK - 10-23-2008 at 07:02 PM
I use 256 or higher.Six66Mike - 10-23-2008 at 07:05 PM
I wish the playlist would give you more info, when I add new stuff to a playlist it just shows you the tracks. I wanna be able to skip down to a
specific band or something but no joy.
I've just re-installed iTunes on my new PC and slowly adding music back to it, it's gonna take a while. I semi like the new layout but it pisses me
off that # bands are stuck at the bottom, I miss 123 ABC sorting, ABC 123 is ass backward.BDx13 - 10-23-2008 at 07:58 PM
Yeah I posted on the Apple forums when they first did it to complain, was given a few options to try changing it using Sort tags but nothing worked.
I'd have to add letters to the sort field to try & get 100 Demons above All Out War SS76 - 10-23-2008 at 08:53 PM

90% of my music is from cds, not downloads if that makes a difference. Had to get my cd drive replaced(free) at the apple store after the first 3
weeks I owned my computer. Of course feeding it over 1000cds in a few weeks was probably pushing it, but fuck it. It was under warranty.BDx13 - 10-23-2008 at 08:59 PM

i've been thinking about this.
took me a bit to realize why it doesn't bother me.
i usually find what i'm looking for by typing the band name, and itunes jumps right down.Six66Mike - 10-24-2008 at 01:03 AM
I only use iTunes to sync my iPod, I use Winamp to play music on my PC So I
scroll through the artists on the iPod and get carpel tunnel trying to scroll to 100 Demons lolDave - 10-24-2008 at 08:22 AM

I love my Ipod and I think Itunes is user friendly enough, I can figure it out, and that says something. I actually have a 30 GB filled up and am now
filling up an 80 GB. I drag my feet on new delivery methods for music, I was the last kid to convert to CDs out of my friends and I was the last one
to won an Ipod. I bought it when I caught orders to Iraq last year and could not live the military lifestyle without it now. Way more convenient than
trying to drag your CD collection onboard a plane or ship for months at a time.DaveMoral - 10-25-2008 at 02:17 AM
I have an iPod shuffle in a box somewhere.... Dude I used to work with in Philly gave it to me when he got an 80 gig as a gift. Never bothered to use
it because I don't have the earbuds or... really... all that much interest in listening ot music right now. Weird.XHonusWagnerX - 10-25-2008 at 08:19 AM

I've always filed my CDs A-Z then 1-100 anyway so it doesnt bother me. I'm always not sure how to file it when its a #, but its spelled out.
