Thorp and Sailor's Grave Board

Chinese Democracy

Voodoobillyman - 10-24-2008 at 08:18 AM

I heard the title track on the radio this morning and must say, it sucked. 17 years for that garbage, they should just give up.

clevohardcore - 10-24-2008 at 09:36 AM

Is this a joke thread? It keep scoming up. I also agree with you 100%

BKT - 10-24-2008 at 10:46 AM

I heard this album. My buddy had it. Nothing special and never should have ever been mentioned, never mind released.

GnR sucked back then and they suck now. Times won't change that.

Appetite for Destruction is one of the best rock n roll records ever released.

You may enjoy it greatly, but it's a horrible pile of shit as is everything having to do with that joke of a band.

Which is why I phrased it that way.

I didn't think the new song was really bad at all. People are wanting to hate it. Axl could put out the greatest album ever and some people want to see it fail.

tireironsaint - 10-24-2008 at 09:10 PM

While I admit that I'd derive a lot of pleasure from watching Axl fall on his face under any circumstances, I strongly disagree with the idea that he could put out the best album ever. Or for that matter, that he could be involved in any way with an album worthy of praise.

clevohardcore - 10-24-2008 at 09:11 PM

Never championed GNR but Appetite was fucking good. Hell, I even jam LIES sometimes. Cause.......I BEEN WALKING THE STREETS AT NIGHT...............JUST TRYING TO GET IT RIGHT..........ITS HARD TO SEE WITH SO MANY AROUND......YOU KNOW I DON'T LIKE BEING STUCK IN THE GROUND..........................GREeeeeWWWWWWOOWWWW I NEED YOU!!!!

MarkV - 10-24-2008 at 09:37 PM

TireIronSaint,
What exactly do you have against GNR?
I mean, do you even like that type of music (Dolls, Aerosmith, Hanoi, Stones, etc) or are you just railing against them because you don't like the genre?

Actually, I love NY Dolls and old Rolling Stones. I dig some Hanoi and can enjoy some of the very old Aerosmith stuff. I don't really see much of a connection to any of those bands with the exception of a tiny bit of crossover with Hanoi and Aerosmith. I would lump GNR in more with crap like Motley Crue and Poison than any of the bands you listed. I've always seen GNR as spoiled little bitches playing precisely the kind of music I would expect to hear from that type of people. They've always been one of those bands that I've been shocked to find out that decent folks actually like. I remember when they first started gaining popularity and some of my friends who were a bit more on the metal side started playing their record all the time. I didn't see the appeal then and I certainly don't now.

I'll admit that my music taste was pretty narrow back when GNR first started getting played, if it wasn't Punk, Oi, or Hard Core I didn't wanna hear it. All these years later and my tastes have broadened to the point that I enjoy such a wide array of genres and styles that most people think there's no way I can enjoy some of what I love just because they see it as being at odds with other things I love. Even with all that range of taste though, I still can't understand why anyone would wanna hear that whiny bitch screeching over that crappy sound.

MarkV - 10-24-2008 at 10:36 PM

I think they're far more related to the Dolls and Aerosmith than the other sunset strip bands on the day.
As for spoiled little bitches, Slash was the only guy who came from money in that band. Duff was a punk from Seattle (played in the Fartz), Izzy and Axl were both squatting in Hollywood (Izzy actually lived with guys from Shattered Faith), etc.

tireironsaint - 10-24-2008 at 11:21 PM

I'm a little bit familiar with their background, but I was more referring to their behavior than their upbringing. It's pretty hard to argue that anyone from any Rock band has ever acted more like a spoiled little bitch than Axl Rose did in the heyday of GNR.

I agree with this....but after that album it all went downhill.

Fuck Axl for calling this new band Guns n Roses

You're talking really about the Use Your Illusion era Axl, as opposed to the Appetite for Destruction era.

tireironsaint - 10-25-2008 at 06:07 PM

Splitting hairs, the guy is a worthless douchebag and I'll never understand why anyone with ears could enjoy anything he's done.

clevohardcore - 10-25-2008 at 06:32 PM

"YOUR CRAZY. YOUR FUCKING CRAZY. YA KNOW YOUR CRAZY!"

joemaconmovies - 10-27-2008 at 04:33 PM

i liked it. i heard it on their website.

XHonusWagnerX - 10-27-2008 at 04:57 PM

is Buckethead on it?

MarkV - 10-27-2008 at 05:11 PM

He might be on some of the recordings. He's not in the band anymore though.

joemaconmovies - 10-27-2008 at 06:01 PM

i think he co-wrote one song with axl on it and thus plays on it. he might be on a few other tracks. there's like10 people who did play on it at one point. and 10 is being nice. probably more.
