Thorp and Sailor's Grave Board

One Year Sober Today

CR83 - 10-28-2008 at 11:56 AM

It's a banner day in the CR83 house. I made a decision on 10-28-07 to stop drinking for good. I battled the sauce a bit and it caused some real problems in my life so I decided to give it up.

My last drunk was a good one too. I'm glad I made this choice and it really helped me and Mrs. R83 get even closer. My daughter also really digs straight edge tunes.

1 year down and about 50 or 60 more to go. Good times.

P.S. It is also my dog's 2nd birthday. We got him a new black leather collar with some metal studs on it. He's stoked

Thanks everyone! Even you Paulie. I know it comes from a good place.

xhonusx not sure if my friend has been as successful as I have. When I don't hear from him, it usually means he has strayed. We'll see. I would still use what you sent though. I love it.

I haven't had a drink in about two months now. It was fucking with the meds I was on which in turn fucked with my mental stability and landed me in the psych ward twice.

I miss booze.

DAK - 10-28-2008 at 01:50 PM

Congrats!

newbreedbrian - 10-28-2008 at 04:04 PM

MikeCore - 10-28-2008 at 04:09 PM

BDx13 - 10-28-2008 at 04:54 PM

good for you, CR.
esp if your marriage is better for it.

DaveMoral - 10-28-2008 at 07:10 PM

Congrats CR. Keep on trucking.

I've never had an addiction problem, but I work with people who struggle with it daily. Keep it up. It's not easy.

tireironsaint - 10-28-2008 at 11:41 PM

Good for you. I've been clean of all the shit I used to do for so long now that I can honestly say I sometimes forget just how hard it was to get away from. My main struggle with maintaining sobriety these days is trying to keep in mind that it really was a matter of life and death for me. It's kind of a fucked up reminder for me when I hear about or talk to people who have had their own issues much more recently, so for that little reminder I thank you.

thedog - 10-29-2008 at 12:54 AM

Happy Anniversary. Congrats.

Lucabrasi - 10-29-2008 at 05:12 AM

Awesome news CR!

Dave - 10-29-2008 at 07:22 AM

CR83 - 10-29-2008 at 09:47 AM
