Thorp and Sailor's Grave Board

HANK III question?

XHonusWagnerX - 10-29-2008 at 12:34 PM

ok... so I got the new CD and I've got "LOVE SICK, BROKE & DRIFTIN", "RISIN OUTLAW", and "STRAIGHT TO HELL".

What else is there to get? Are there any records that are more of the countrypunk or faster bluegrass stuff?

Also, has anyone ever met him or know him? I heard from someone that hes a jerk and people seem to either love him or hate him.

You can find a bunch of bootleg stuff through his own site last I knew as far as the assjack (heavy stuff). I would wait to see what Spoiler says, he knows alot about this.

He has 3 official bootleg Cd's of his early Assjack stuff.....that is kinda punked up country sounding. His newer Assjack stuff is straight up metal....you can hear this stuff by downloading some live shows here
http://www.archive.org/search.php?query=HankWilliamsIII

none of the Assjack stuff was ever released due to his record contract with curb....they don't like it and want release it.You can only hear it live or on one of the hundreds of bootleg shows available. He encourages bootlegging his live shows just to get this stuff out.

I prefer his country stuff over the metal stuff anyday though,I've never cared for Assjack.

I've met him several times and he has always been way cool to me.He plays about a 2 hour set without a break at every show....1 hour country , 1 hour metal....and after the show, instead of going back stage,he sits down in front of the stage to meet and take pictures with EVERY single fan who wants to meet him.
So I don't see how anyone can call him an jerk.

He was perfectly cool when I did his show at the Living Room.

I also don't really consider Scotch Greens country punk, but to each his own.

maybe that's why I like em. I really am one of those "No Disco, Rap, Country" closed minded kinda guys.

Don't know if any exists but I'd be interested in hearing it if in fact it does.

On a related note has anyone heard of of the Arson Anthem stuff?

come to think of it,
The 3 official boots are studio recordings (not so good)...but they are of early Assjack songs that are totally different then the stuff Assjack plays now.I have all 3 of them somewhere.I'll burn you copies if you want em' Honus.
The heavier stuff that they do now is only available on the live boots.

Yes,Arson Anthem is pretty badass.
