thanks!!

DaveMoral - 10-30-2008 at 11:15 AM

Nice.

It's funny to see comments about Slayer and "can't they do something different." Umm, dude, the last couple times they departed from traditional Slayer sounds it sucked balls.

Jason the Magnificent - 10-30-2008 at 12:28 PM

I'm so incredibly bored by this band.

The song sound s a little 'raw' or 'older' but they always do the bait and switch. They release a new song that is the culmination of 3 years of off time...everyone says...whoa this sounds like old slayer!!! then the album comes out and we find out that the early song was released because it was the best one and that the rest are a boring hodge podge of riffs that would have NEVER made it onto a pre SOH Slayer album.

I won't even get into hypocrit ass Tom Araya...I've ranted enough on that guy.

clevohardcore - 10-30-2008 at 02:18 PM

Its sounds good. I like it. Hard to believe they are busting out a album 2 years after the last one. Usually they wait around 4 years or so. IS this out in November 2008 or summer 2009?

Discipline - 10-30-2008 at 02:22 PM

Fuck I love Slayer. \m/

CR83 - 10-30-2008 at 02:23 PM

Sounds great. I can see Jason's point but for me and a classic band like Slayer, I like to know what I'm getting I guess.

BDx13 - 10-30-2008 at 02:24 PM

slayer is one of those bands that i never felt like i needed more than one album from.
ac/dc and admittedly, motorhead fall into that category as well.

Blasphemer. Bow down before the almighty Lemmy.

clevohardcore - 10-30-2008 at 04:11 PM

AHAHAHAHA. MOTORHEAD and AC/DC. I agree 110% although I have a few motorhead. NO AC/DC but for some reason I know all the songs that matter. Even on guitar.

Do you actually keep up with Motorhead's catalog?

JawnDiablo - 10-30-2008 at 04:12 PM

no
you need every motorhead up till 1992
everyone does.

Interesting. AC/DC and Motorhead are must haves for me, never could stand Slayer in any amount though.

when was 1916 released? was the last one i 100% liked. everything after was weak, except the duet with ozzy.

MarkV - 10-30-2008 at 04:38 PM

I really didn't know people bought new Motorhead records.

panzerkreuzer - 10-30-2008 at 04:40 PM

i know some. they buy everything motöhead release. but i think it´s some collector´s trip. when they listen, they always grab the old stuff...

BDx13 - 10-30-2008 at 04:41 PM

These are the only CDs I have from these bands...
AC/DC - Back in Black
Motorhead - Ace of Spades
Slayer - Reign in Blood

When I want to hear those bands, those are the records i want to hear.

I have downloads of Christ Illusion, Undisputed Attitude and 1916, but have never really listened to them.

MarkV - 10-30-2008 at 04:46 PM

I have Motorhead No Remorse. Never really saw a need for much more than that.
As for ACDC, I have pretty much all of the Bon Scott era stuff, a few Brian Johnson records.
Slayer, have random shit on Itunes, but I'm pretty sure Reign In Blood is the only full length.

I really like Motorhead. Or, I should say the 20 or so songs they have that kick ass. After that, it's pretty bad.

All the AC/DC I wanna hear is Bon Scott stuff. Back In Black has some good stuff, but the combination of hearing that stuff everywhere when I was a kid and the fact that the best songs are reworked tracks that Bon never got to finish kinda dulls my interest. I have practically zero interest in anything they did after that one.

Motorhead I don't need every single album, but they have too many classic songs spread over too many albums for me to just have one. I actually haven't picked up the newest yet, but I'll probably get around to it. BD, I highly encourage you to listen to that download of 1916, that has several of my favorite Motorhead songs on it.

CR83 - 10-30-2008 at 04:51 PM

No AC/DC ever. I own Motorhead's Greatest Hits. Doesn't melt my butter. I also own every slayer release.

I'm noticing a bit of a trend in this thread...

Discipline - 10-30-2008 at 05:08 PM

I own every Motorhead studio album plus some live albums, greatest hits albums, and a box set. I had the Motorhead logo airbrushed on a jean jacket back in high school which I wore to death. Seen them several times, including the 20th, 25th, and 30th anniversary tours. Greatest band ever.

I own every Slayer album.

AC/DC I have 6 or 7 albums.

I'm kind of confused as to why the fact that some of the songs were reworked for Johnson would dull the record for you? Did you hear the versions Scott was working on before you heard Johnson's versions? I can understand being burnt on stuff from over hearing it as a kid.
I'd say ACDC have far more better songs, and albums as a whole post Scott than Motorhead in the same time period.

SS76 - 10-30-2008 at 05:21 PM

I own all of Motorhead and all Slayer albums Reign in Blood and after. Back in black is it for AC/DC though. I strongly suggest Motorhead's Inferno if you haven't heard it.

Siczine.com - 10-30-2008 at 05:43 PM

It's not bad, but I will not buying this album.

BDx13 - 10-30-2008 at 06:04 PM

on the boards recommendation, it is clear i need some earlier ac/dc and inferno.
...and to listen to 1916.

gavin - 10-30-2008 at 06:53 PM

i own all ac/dc up until and including for those about to rock
all of which rule
the bon scott albums are a must have
all of them
i have some of their newer stuff which is ok i guess
motorhead i have what i need
i always check out their newer stuff
some is cool, some does nothing for me
slayer is fine
i dont love them but i dont hate them either
reign in blood is brilliant
other than that, im whatever about them

92 I think
or 91 maybe, but that is the cd i was referring to.

DaveMoral - 10-30-2008 at 08:58 PM

I know everything AC/DC that everyone knows. I don't much care about them outside knowing those tunes though.

Motorhead I like ,but not crazy about them.

And with Slayer I am partial to South of Heaven, but Reign In Blood is great. I think I only have 3 or 4 of their albums and most if it's old.
