gavin - 11-20-2008 at 01:18 AM

thanks for making tear up in that last 10 mins
just what i needed today
awesome

MarkV - 11-20-2008 at 01:47 AM

Oh don't say anything else! I don't get to see it 'til 11 my time!!

MarkV - 11-20-2008 at 05:34 AM

Oh man. Christ. I was literally sitting here going "no, no, no," on several occasions, esp in the last 15 minutes.

Voodoobillyman - 11-20-2008 at 10:06 AM

Yeah, I was pretty shocked and still can't believe they went there. Such a good show and getting better. next week is gonna be a killer, it is on!

Voodoobillyman - 11-20-2008 at 10:07 AM

By the way, I love the switch from assholes in the street to Possums on the tree geoff, very fitting my friend. Country boy at heart

Mickey - 11-20-2008 at 10:35 AM

I love how they said go ghetto, but then he rolls out in a pimped out Range Rover. Don't see too many of those in the ghetto. I thought for sure the call to put a stop on the hit would go through, then when they show the ringing bike I was like ahhhh she's fucked. Such a bummout, but so good at the same time.
Anyone notice Mario Van Peebles as the director of last weeks episode.

JawnDiablo - 11-20-2008 at 10:51 AM

crap.
i fell asleep on the couch at 10:30 and missed the end.
I'll check it tonight.

BDx13 - 11-20-2008 at 10:51 AM

The new Sons of Anarchy episode last night. If you aren't hip yet Big D, check it out, you will dig.

BDx13 - 11-20-2008 at 11:01 AM

apparently, i am very unhip.
never even heard of it.

THORP - 11-20-2008 at 11:03 AM

Alright, it airs on Fox on Tuesday nights. It's about an Outlaw Motorcycle club in CA. Think Hells Angels, Outlaws, Pagans, Banditos etc....... It has received the nod from real 1% er's as being pretty damn accurate as a protrayal of the lifestyle it is one of my top 5 shows to watch. I can't miss it.

FX Channel in PA BD.
Great show.
Worth checkin out.
You can view most older episodes on FX's website, or they are easily downloaded from sites like demonoid.

Siczine.com - 11-20-2008 at 04:24 PM

Also its on Wednesdays in PA, not Tuesdays.

On Demand they have like the last 5 episodes. If you want to check out the first episodes go to surfthechannel.com.

MarkV - 11-20-2008 at 04:59 PM

Yeah, Wednesdays on FX for the originals.

Mickey-- When he said "go ghetto," he meants "make it seem like a black dude did it." Of course it's going to be in a pimped out SUV.

Last night's episode was really the first episode that was totally incredible. I enjoy the show, but usually for the goofy factor.

Siczine.com - 11-20-2008 at 05:17 PM

Funniest thing about the show is that Jax wears white Air Force Ones. I have never seen a MC type dude wearing those.

MarkV - 11-20-2008 at 05:21 PM

With the younger guys, more the age he's supposed to be, the baggier jeans and sneakers like that isn't that uncommon, at least in LA. Seem to remember guys in the NE clubs wearing sneakers from time to time, no specifically air force ones though.

random - 11-20-2008 at 07:37 PM

BD - Start here... http://www.sidereel.com/Sons_of_Anarchy

I like the show. Not nearly as good as The Shield, but I'm a fan. It was a good episode, but I wasn't about to tear up. I knew it would happen, but I was thinking it would the original one. (I won't say more for those who are gonna watch but haven't yet.)

And no offense intended to anyone, but why is it that someone always has to mention the one-percenters that they know in these threads on message boards??? Makes it seem like there's some giant, invisible army of bikers lurking around the country. (Again, no offense here, especially given some crazy internet rumors about a certain Boston crew that has seen several of it's original members go onto a certain MC, though I have no actual knowledge of any of this.)

MarkV - 11-20-2008 at 07:53 PM

Random- I'm not exactly sure what your point is?

Those aren't crazy internet rumors. It's a fact. Was even mentioned in the Gangland episode about said Boston crew and its affiliated other chapters.

random - 11-20-2008 at 08:03 PM

Mark,

Wasn't so much directed at you, since I do think you know what you're talking about. But I've seen other threads about the show pop up on some other scene-related message boards, and there's usually a long line of people rushing to talk about how it does/doesn't reflect the reality of the 1%'ers that they know.

And the "crazy internet rumors" thing was just meant to say that I'm aware of the situation, but only via the internet. i.e. I don't really know shit. More about me than you or guys in Brockton. (Again, never been there and don't know shit about it except the internet.)

MarkV - 11-20-2008 at 08:11 PM

Ah, gotcha. This is really the only board I post on that has anything to do with hardcore or anything.
Haven't talked about the show with any of the 1%ers I do know, so I don't know their feelings. (Most are back east. I know a couple dudes out here in LA, but only really run into them rarely at bars and have a little small talk, you know?" From what I've seen of the show, and real life, some of the stuff seems pretty accurate and some is like "oh, come on." I find the whole "jax dad started the gang to be a commune" to be a bit of a stretch.
Did you catch the Gangland episode in question?

random - 11-20-2008 at 08:15 PM

No, I looked for it online but couldn't find it. Might be up somewhere now though. Ah, the drawbacks of no longer having American television. :) Was it any good? I read that it just had the same footage cycling throughout, and something about a guy that I'm guessing is E.J. wearing a way-too-tight t-shirt during the interviews.

MarkV - 11-20-2008 at 08:24 PM

There was a limited amount of footage (but, in reality, all of those shows tend to be like that). I really like the show in general, but having dealt with them on this, you can tell the shows are really put together super quickly.
Had some footage of Righteous Jams, Shattered Realm, Death Before Dishonor, Ramallah, 25 ta Life and one or two others, and part of the old Wrecking Crew video as far as band stuff went.
Yeah, Elgin was one of the main people interviewed, so that's most likely who you heard about.

Mickey - 11-21-2008 at 12:24 AM

You don't see too many younger bikers sportin the grizzly look. A lot of people knock SOA for having a character like Jax, but that's how a lot of the younger 1%ers look. I think the shows great and wonder how fast it'll take for joe blow biker riding a Harley thinking he's a bad ass 1%er, and more and more people try to copy the culture.
The gangland episode was ridiculous. Pretty much an hour long infomercial for boston beatdown. How many times can you repeat the same scene and say it a different way, and some of the shit they were saying was laughable

Yeah, they used a decent amount of footage from that, since it was the only fighting that was available.

JUICE MAYNE MSHC - 11-21-2008 at 05:43 AM

really like Sons Of Anarchy...I also teared up at the end...reminded me of the 100 dead family members I have. Good show. I think it will be a good replacement for the Shield for me.

Gangland was awful.

MarkV - 11-21-2008 at 05:46 AM

If next week and next season continue like this, the show's going to get excellent.

JawnDiablo - 11-21-2008 at 07:26 AM

saw it last night.
that was really sad.
most of the charachters are very likeable on there.
was that the season finale?

No, next week it's on because Jacks is going to find out that it was Crow who set the hit up, Opy is going to want blood, and then I see the club splitting with a mini civil war type deal going on. of course the Mayans will be involved somehow and the black gangstas and white power dudes will have a part in it as well I think. All speculation of course, they could go all kinds of ways with it now.

MarkV - 11-21-2008 at 04:27 PM

The white power dudes (the Nords) are out of the picture now, aren't they?

Furly - 11-21-2008 at 05:19 PM

Love this show. This weeks was sooo good. I don't watch the preveiws for next weeks though, sure it's going to be rad, don't want to ruin my suprise.

Nah, not completely I don't think. Thye Mayans hit most of em, but there are a few left.

MarkV - 11-21-2008 at 10:15 PM

I thought (but could be wrong because someone else in the room was talking) that when Clay and the head Mayan brokered that deal, one of the things Clay told the head Mayan was that he had to take care of the head Nord (Skinner from X Files). That was 3 or 4 episodes ago and I haven't seen him.

random - 11-21-2008 at 11:26 PM

I don't exactly remember, but I remember getting that impression without it being explicit. Then I thought that the agreement might have been to take out the Mayan who tried to take out Clay after the head guy had him stabbed.

My guess is that the Nords will be back in later episodes. If you didn't see him/them die, it's probably not good to assume that they're gone.

MarkV - 11-21-2008 at 11:39 PM

The 2 guys who tried to kill Clay were killed in the bar, right?
The head Mayan had the kid who was supposed to kill the head Nord stabbed in the park.

random - 11-22-2008 at 12:05 AM

Maybe you've got it right. I thought the younger Mayan was the one who volunteered to take out Clay (for the Mayans, based on the conversation with the leader of the Nords). But I don't remember who was in the bar during the shoot out. But I really remember the younger Mayan trying to apologize for not getting the job done before he got taken out.

MarkV - 11-22-2008 at 01:31 AM

Both hits were botched, though. Clay wasn't shot, and two random Nords and a chic were killed and the leader escaped. He may have been killed for botching both?

JawnDiablo - 11-22-2008 at 09:37 AM

I expect major bloodshed coming all around.

Yup, I'm late to respond, but it went down like this......home invasion with guns a blazin and the head Nord hiding behind a counter. Dudes didn't stick long enough to check the rest of the house and accepted the initial body count. Too bad for dude who was assigned the hit because he caught it right before his corn dog. Damn.............. I think the head Nord will be back at some point with more mayhem.

I for some reason haven't been able to find the old episodes on demand and can't watch them on the site, so I haven't been able to find the mayan/soa truce part. Did clay ask them to take him out in jail that night?

Voodoobillyman - 11-22-2008 at 08:34 PM

I don't believe so. I don't even know is Clay asked them to do it at all rather they decided to do it themselves based on a meeting they had with the Nords that went sour. They hit the Nords the same time they shot up the irish gun runner and tried to hit Clay in the pub. I think the Nord hit was before the truce.

MarkV - 11-23-2008 at 07:20 PM

No, I"m talking about after that.
