because i'm seeing discipline and sick of it all. h20 should be good, too. just finished a bunch of work, term ends in two days, and i'm skipping out early.

half that show kicks ass, the other half, not my cup o tea, but enjoy!!!! I just found out Agnostic Front on the 31st of January here in Va Beach. I will be there

i totally agree. honestly, i'm going early for discipline since they never play the states, so this is probably my only chance to see them play. i've seen soia before. like af, they're good, but not great these days. i think h20 will be good but not great. the rest i couldn't give two shits about.

good lineup

Discipline - 12-11-2008 at 11:25 AM

I'm jealous. I really want to see Discipline live.

Nothing to be jealous of. Here's the line-up posted on the Persistence myspace:

11.12. LONDON - FORUM (UK)
04.00 PM T.B.A.
04.50 PM WAR OF AGES
05.30 PM DISCIPLINE
06.15 PM BORN FROM PAIN
07.00 PM HEAVEN SHALL BURN
07.45 PM TERROR
08.30 PM H2O
09.30 PM SICK OF IT ALL

I guess this is the only show to ever run ahead of schedule. I didn't feel like sitting through any more crap than I had to, so I walked into the show right at 5:30. I also didn't pay attention tot he line-up aside from when Discipline was playing. Watched Born from Pain. They sucked. Watched Heaven Shall Burn. They took suckiness to a whole new level. Terror played, and I guess they're good at what they do, but it's not my thing. One really odd thing is that all of these bands had these massive banners with their name, and they switched these out between sets. Except after Terror, they put up the SOIA banner. At this point, I was pissed because I knew that Discipline played early or not at all, and now I thought H20 also wasn't playing. They did come out and play a set with a good mix of material, but it sounded like garbled dog shit. For a melodic hardcore band, I heard no melody. I did hear a lot of bass, a shit ton of distortion, and a fair amount of drums. But no guitar and barely any vocals. And the set was only about 20 minutes, which is odd given the hour-long slot. Not the fault of the band at all, but the set was pretty bad. SOIA was playing a good set, but I was tired of standing around after 4 hours and watching garbage, so I left about 20-30 minutes into their set.

By the way, since when does every single band need to dim the lights and play an intro before coming on stage?

Voodoobillyman - 12-11-2008 at 08:33 PM

bummer you missed discipline bro. That would have been the one band i really wanted to see

random - 12-11-2008 at 08:40 PM

Yeah, it was an overall disappointment. Missed Discipline, sound mixing was awful for h20, and just in a bad mood for SOIA after all the bad metal. Just wish I knew that I needed to show up at 4pm to see Discipline.

BDx13 - 12-11-2008 at 09:41 PM

ahead of schedule?
i don't understand.
that shit blows my mind.
did someone else drop off?

random - 12-11-2008 at 09:47 PM

SOIA was on at 9:10pm instead of the scheduled 9:30. It really baffles me. I'm guessing either Discipline, War of Ages, or TBA dropped off. Damn those TBA, ruining everything. :( But I also don't get why you wouldn't just wait to start the show if an opener dropped off when it was scheduled to begin at 4pm on a Thursday. Fuck, I'm in school, and I still had to skip some shit to make it "on time". What the fuck did people with 9-5 jobs do?
