Thorp and Sailor's Grave Board

Winter beards of the Thorp board...

XnMeX - 12-16-2008 at 11:38 PM

Anyone else growing a fierce beard out for the winter? I have a good start to mine going. I will have to take a picture soon. I wanna see if I can get it to be the biggest ever before wanting to shave it.

I hate my hair right now so I will probably shave that off soon but I always tend to shave the beard off soon after.

Murk - 12-17-2008 at 12:05 AM

yeah, shaved head with the wicked beard is always good stuff.

post some pics when the time is right.

BDx13 - 12-17-2008 at 01:33 AM

i typically only shave once a week, but have no more beard plans.
there have been some mustache and amish beard experiments the past couple of years and i think that's enough for me.
i'll see if i can dig up a photo of the goat i used to go with as a youngster.
it was substantial!

XnMeX - 12-17-2008 at 08:18 AM

I could never get my goat to grow very long. No idea why.

Lucabrasi - 12-17-2008 at 08:23 AM

no beard for me just my fu manchu

Dave - 12-17-2008 at 09:05 AM

i shave like twice a week, im lazy.....i did a beard for a month a couple years ago.......

this was also the longest my hair has been in like 15 years......

CR83 - 12-17-2008 at 10:32 AM

I am 33 and I think I have a total of 75 whiskers. I am splotchy at best.

random - 12-17-2008 at 10:39 AM

Not much of a beard, but I haven't shaved in about a week and probably won't again until mid-January when I go back to normal life again. But "splotchy at best" sums it up for me.

It is really close. My horse in real life is a little bigger.

I have facial hair all year round because I look much better with than without. Lately I've been rocking the handlebar/fu-manchu look, but I've started growing the chin back in to bring back the goatee.

I itch for a few weeks then is goes away.

Gavin.... Impressive! My goatee can never get that long damn it. I cut everything off earlier this year to try and "start over" so we'll see what happens.

Also, here is mine right now... It's been longer so it is a work in progress.

XHonusWagnerX - 12-18-2008 at 08:21 AM

I just cant stand the mustache part. Once it gets long enough that it starts to really touch my lip it drives me nuts!

I think I'm probably growing mine again, but we'll see how long it lasts.

INDEED! I was gonna rock a turban one day with my white as snow fiance thru the mall and see what looks / comments would get made on us "race traders" / terrorists. It would be a nice social experiment.

BDx13 - 12-18-2008 at 07:10 PM

it's amish, damnit!

barc0debaby - 12-18-2008 at 07:12 PM

John Walker Lindh style.

No way, the Amish style is way longer and such.

Monty, do it. Depending on where you go in the country is where you'll get the most stares. I'm telling you, going through the Midwest in traditional middle eastern garb is a fun ride. All types of looks.

BDx13 - 12-19-2008 at 03:26 PM

you're right, dave.
but you generally see the longer beards on the old timers.
the young amish bucks look like monty.

I would need to part with the moustache.

Pretty much like mine but with a soul patch.

I AM THE AMISH TERRORIST!

XHonusWagnerX - 12-21-2008 at 07:29 PM

Monty, where did you get that hat made??

BDx13 - 12-21-2008 at 07:43 PM

i can get one for ya, honus?
any of the ladies want a bonnet?
np!

random - 12-21-2008 at 07:50 PM

put a bowler hat on that amish guy and he'd fit in at an oi show.

lol.... I was confused at first about how you could get me a hat like his!

I think I have a derby somewhere.

XnMeX - 12-22-2008 at 08:08 AM

The Amish hat, or my Game Mechanix skull hat? I did some work to get the hat made... Went to Lids in the mall, asked the guy if they do custom logos, he said yes and pointed me to the book of clip art (idiot). So, I asked him if I could see the program they use and he pulled it up (I wrote down the name). I asked him what files they use (I wrote down the extensions). Went home, did some searching, and found some programs to download and try. First one didn't work for me, second one did. Made the logo, put it on disc, and brought it in. Since I made the logo it cost the same as a clip art logo from them. I have checked on doing custom logos thru embroidery shops before and they all wanted like $50.00 - $80.00 to digitize the artwork. My hat cost $26.00 total (flex fit). Not bad for a 1 of a kind. I can get em made up whenever I want though, any color, hat, etc. I plan on listing them on the site store but I am sure no one will spend $30.00 on a video game podcast hat. lol

BDx13 - 12-22-2008 at 10:53 AM

i wanna see this hat!
you can list 'em for sale, then just produce them as needed.

random - 12-22-2008 at 10:55 AM

BD - It's the hat he's wearing in the pic above. This one...

BDx13 - 12-22-2008 at 01:02 PM

oh, word.

yo, monty, people would by that regardless of the podcast connection.
it's a dope design!
digital punk!

XnMeX - 12-22-2008 at 11:01 PM

Yeah, I am gonna post em up at some point. The logo was designed before the podcast as I was bored at work. lol
