tireironsaint - 12-19-2008 at 12:13 AM

Hmm, don't get to see too many shows anymore, but there were some good ones this year. I think top of the list was seeing Detroit Cobras with X. Fun Fun Fun Fest was pretty damn cool, especially Cro-Mags, DOA, Adolescents, Bad Brains, and Swingin' Utters. I also got to see The Hickoids along with Pat Todd & The Rank Outsiders when I was in Austin. I'm sure there must have been some other shows early on in the year, but those are really all of the big ones coming to mind right now.

SS76 - 12-19-2008 at 12:14 AM

Mentors
Dwarves
Agnostic Front and Death Before Dishonor and Wisdom In Chains
Murphy's Law and Rancid
Dandy Warhols
Cavalera Conspiracy
Ill Bill and Slaine
and M.O.D.

some that I remember most.

JawnDiablo - 12-19-2008 at 12:31 AM

didnt see many this year.
madball soia @ the church
killing time @ the church
Motorhead @ the factory on my birthday
AF @ Dobbs
and all were memorable in their own way
all good.

clevohardcore - 12-19-2008 at 01:04 AM

man this year sucked for shows. I have been just doing school and family shit to be able to get out.

Discipline - 12-19-2008 at 01:44 AM

I don't think I went to a single show this year. So few bands I'm willing to leave the house for.

defstarsteve - 12-19-2008 at 01:46 AM

I went to 1 show this year

CARCASS

best show I've seen in a long fucking time

joey - 12-19-2008 at 05:43 AM

I wanted to go to that A7 show but 'killing time' played that night on LI. NO WAY I WAS MISSING THAT!!

random - 12-19-2008 at 07:34 AM

No Redeeming Social Value and Mike Ness are the only shows I can think of that I was completely happy when I left.

franklo - 12-19-2008 at 09:57 AM

Isis,amazing performance.

Mark Lind - 12-19-2008 at 11:25 AM

I saw some pretty cool "concerts" this year. But the best "show" was Against Me! at the Wilbur Theater in Boston.

BDx13 - 12-19-2008 at 11:38 AM

i love seeing all this killing time support! i've probably seen them four times since they first got back together for that show at north six in 04 or whenever it was.

not many shows this year... etta james, pogues, foo fighters, willie nelson, dkm...i think that's it. boy, i am old. all except the pogues were great.

CR83 - 12-19-2008 at 11:38 AM

DKM with Everybody Out. Only show I went to this year.

ShawnRefuse - 12-19-2008 at 12:21 PM

Too many to list but here are the few I really liked:

MOD (Hell in PVD)
AF (twice, the last one was better) (Hell in PVD)
SLAPSHOT (Anchors UP - I hope the 28th with the Bosstones makes it best show of the year for me)
LEFTOVER CRACK (our CD release party at Lido in Revere)
WED. NIGHT HEROES (Lido in Revere)

Like I said there are a ton more, but all fun.

Furly - 12-19-2008 at 12:40 PM

Christ, I've been too a lot of great shows this year, but the 3 that are sticking out for me were:

Carcass. Morbid Angel and Opeth in Greece

Slapshot in Haverhill

Ducky Boys, FFF and the Pinkerton Thugs last weekend. (I brought my nephew who is 12. He had a blast, which made the whole night amazing!)

fair enough. there were definitely some real fucking tools when we saw them too

Rich Uncle Skeleton - 12-22-2008 at 11:06 AM

Not a lot of bands tour near my corner of Indiana...

Seeing Death Threat for the first time in four years was great.
That Madball/Sick of it All tour was awesome

How are these Killing Time shows turning out? They're one of my favorite bands, but plane tickets and gas are real expensive, so I've had to do without.

joey - 12-22-2008 at 11:39 AM

I have seen them play in philly, L.I., and bunch of times in nyc and Killing Time always puts on a great show. They will be playing in chicago the first week of may. FOOLS DIE!

BDx13 - 12-22-2008 at 01:00 PM

every time i've seen KT the past few years, they;ve been tight as shit. in my opinion, Anthony has one of the all-time greatest voices in hardcore, and he's never sounded better.

great crowd every show except one. it was a benefit in brooklyn, weeknight, late, but great line up - awkward thought, joe coffee, killing time, uppercut, more.

That lineup is fucking killer. I wish I could have been there for that as I've never had the chance to see any of those bands.

BDx13 - 12-22-2008 at 01:47 PM

that show also had Skin Candy (missed them) and Everyday Dollars.

joey - 12-22-2008 at 02:30 PM

Yeah i was at that benefit and i agree with you BD (about the turnout)

Mickey - 12-22-2008 at 04:35 PM

These stick out for me.....
Guns Up "last" show in Mass
BNB/superbowl
Slapshot in Haverhill
AF/ DBD/ WIC in providence

shaneBDC - 12-23-2008 at 12:27 PM

Sick of it all
madball
death before dishonor
wisdom in chains

at the church in philly, one of the best shows i've ever seen period.
