after installing a security update on my five year old PowerBook this past week, the machine would no longer complete the reboot process.
was able to boot off an OS install dvd, run some diagnostics and determined that there was unrepairable damage to the disk. first time i've ever had
this problem with a mac.
reformatted the drive, reinstalled the OS, downloaded subsequent updates and the machine is running like new again.
thanks to regular backups, i didn't loose much, but this was no longer my primary machine anyway. i think this is gonna be the itunes / streaming
netflix / kids' machine now.DAK - 1-2-2009 at 05:32 PM

AHAHAHAHHAHAHA. I am still laughing at the thread title. That is too fucking good. Terrible what happened, but still a funny thread. My computer is
fucked. I got to take this back in in the morning. May be off the board for a couple days because of it.upyerbum - 1-2-2009 at 11:46 PM
