DROWNING ROOM - The Divinity Syndrome 7"
Limited repress of Drowning Room's debut 7" made for their recent reunion show in 2009. This upsate NY band had a sound that bridged the gap between deathcore and melodic metal, while still showing their hardcore roots. Think Bloodlet and Starkweather crossed with Into Another and Black Sabbath. Members went on to play in Robots & Empire, Joshua and The Ataris. Limited to 103 hand numbered copies on color vinyl.

ROBOTS AND EMPIRE - Omnivore CD
ROBOTS AND EMPIRE's full length CD entitled "Omnivore" is the ferocious result of 4 kids from Poughkeepsie, NY who spent time in 90's metalcore units WHEN DREAMS DIE (Ides of March/Rev Distribution) and DROWNING ROOM (Trip Machine) amassing days upon days listening to a ton of post hardcore records that came out of the east coast in the mid to late 90's(Quicksand, Into Another, Orange 9mm, Cast Iron Hike, Unsane) and a ton of Space Rock from that same time period (Failure, Hum, Chavez, Shiner, Deftones) plus a healthy dose Black Sabbath. Recorded at Atomic Recording (Madball, Sick of it All, Anodyne, The Hope Conspiracy) by Dean Baltulonis, "Omnivore" showcases ROBOTS AND EMPIRE's sonic brand of space doom. For fans of Cave In, Torche, Failure and Cast Iron Hike.

TOURNAMENT - Swordswallower CDep
Brooklyn, NY's Tournament debut EP "Swordswallower" is a 5 song spastic hardcore-punk blast that showcases the quartet playing at break neck Drive Like Jehu inspired hyper speeds and then slowing it down to Karp styled sluggishness. Beautiful silkscreened packaging done by the band themselves. For fans of Drive Like Jehu, Fugazi, The Jesus Lizard, Hot Snakes and Karp.

ATLAS SHRUGGED - We Don't Stand a Chance 7”
On "We Don't Stand a Chance" NY's Atlas Shrugged takes their usual foundation of influences such as Burn, Quicksand, Bad Brains and Voivod and craft songs of pure emotion and despair. This 3 song 7" is a ride on the emotional roller coaster ride that is their lives. Repressed on limited color vinyl, only 153 copies made.

DISSOLVE - Caveman of the Future CD
"Caveman of the Future" is the long awaited full length from Poughkeepsie, NY's Dissolve. Originally scheduled to be released in 2001 on the now defunct M.I.A. Records (one time home for Indecision, Darkest Hour, Candiria and Disassociate), the 13 tracks on this album twist and turn through Dissolve's signature brand of chaotic metalcore. For fans of Kiss It Goodbye, Voivod, Neurosis, Overcast and Mastodon.

ALL OUT WAR - Hymns of the Apocalypse 7”
This is the long awaited repress of the out of print 7" originally released on S.U.R. Records. These 2 songs from NY's All Out War were originally intended for an Astor Records NYHC compilation that never saw the light of day. All Out War is a punishing display of the aggression of hardcore crossed with the brutality of metal while avoiding the shortcomings of both genres. To get a taste of All Out War's musical style, envision Carcass colliding head on with "Age of Quarrel" era Cro- Mags. Two styles as different as they come but All Out War combines the two to form an attack unmatched by today's standards. Very few copies of the 1st press are left...only about 15 left on COKE BOTTLE CLEAR and roughly 50 of the RED VINYL.

BEHEAD THE LAMB - Messiahlation CDep
Poughkeepsie, NY's Behead The Lamb debuts with their first EP entitled "Messiahlation". Behead The Lamb, which features former members of both All Out War (Victory Records) and Nerve Gas Tragedy (Spook City Records), display a sound that channels their death metal influences only hinted at with their previous bands. If you like early 90's death metal...you will love Behead The Lamb. For fans of Carcass, Morbid Angel, Bolt Thrower and All Out War.

DROWNING ROOM not da POOL

BDx13 - 1-9-2009 at 07:05 PM

HA! "not da POOL"!

Chris, you might know the answer to this..
did drowning room have a song that included lyrics along the lines of "feel the rope around your throat"?
i got a mix tape YEARS ago with this killer song (might have been a live recording) and based on the notes, i thought it was a drowning room track. i picked up a 7" or two, but never found the track. either it's another band or a different drowning room.

Duane
It sounds like that could be from the demo which was much more metallish than their later output. I'll check this weekend and report back!

I was thinking it was PIPES, so it prob is. Funny think is that is like their ultra 1st demo tape....more like a recorded rehersal.....
