New Reviews

Robots and Empire - Omnivore [Trip Machine]
The first couple of tracks on the disc tricked me into thinking this would be awesome. They are like weird re-imaginings of Floor songs, but then Omnivore quickly melts into a sea of bad ideas.

Reignition- How Far are You Willing to Push This
I got Reignition' s demo a while back and was impressed. The band has a sound reminiscent of early RATM and Downset, with a little Burn thrown in fopr good measure.

Gunther Weezul - The Sons of Perdition [Overit]
Gunther Weezul is more or less the 21st century version of old Albany favorite Section 8. It's hard to explain the sound and appeal of Section 8 to an outsider. It's sort of like if Acid Bath had a slightly less chaotic cousin from the northeast. Although recent popular opinion has made Section 8 into something more along the lines of guilty peasure music, if you were to ask anyone in the area ten years ago, they would've told you Section 8 was essential listening.

Stay Alive- Vinyl For My Friends
Vinyl for my Friends has a split personality, half the record is melodic hardcore with gruff vocals and political lyrics. "Drop off laundry" and "Everything for Sale" reminds me of Avail, early Samiam, Bouncing Souls and Big Rig. If these songs were alone I would say this was a great record.

Incendiary- Amongst the Filth
Amongst the Filth is straight up 90's hardcore worship, music that makes you think and hit the dance floor.
