XHonusWagnerX - 2-6-2009 at 11:33 AM

Slapshot is suposed to be playing this in June so I was checking it out online. Its a HUGE 3 day festival and all of the line-ups for each day are not set up yet and I read something that says they have 40 more bands to confirm, but here are some of the ones playing....

HEAVEN & HELL (Tony Iommi, Dio, Geezer & Carmine Appice)
WASP
DEICIDE
TERROR
GIRLSCHOOL
PENTAGRAM (awesome old 70's Sabbath style metal)
BLOODCLOT
THE MISFITS (Jerry, Dez & Robo I assume)
SACRED REICH
CATHEDRAL
THE BUISNESS
MANOWAR
NAPALM DEATH
PESTILENCE
ENTOMBED
MOTLEY CRUE
ANTHRAX
AMEBIX
BETRAYED (Aram from Champion)
COALESCE
DESTRUCTION
DEVIL DRIVER (x Coal Chamber)
ELECTRIC WIZARD
EYE HATE GOD
KINGDOM OF SORROW (Jamie Jasta & a guy from Crobar)
SOILENT GREEN

JawnDiablo - 2-6-2009 at 12:07 PM

wow.
I'd like to see a bunch of that

DaveMoral - 2-6-2009 at 12:34 PM

Coalesce is still around?

So this is obviously not connected with Trustkill, huh?

mattybar - 2-6-2009 at 01:31 PM

that's the most random lineup i've ever seen

i love how The Business are in the middle of it all sticking out like a sore thumb haha!

clevohardcore - 2-6-2009 at 05:56 PM

^^^ I agree with everything said here. I really wondered if that wasn't a typo or if they really did mean The Business.

XHonusWagnerX - 2-6-2009 at 06:19 PM

I seriously doubt its a typo. I'm kind of confused why seeing The Buisness on there is so odd compared to Slapshot, Bloodclot, Amebix, EyeHateGod etc?

Honus, the typo is that they wrote THE BUISNESS instead of Business (switched I and S). That said, do you really not see a difference between Slapshot, Bloodclot and EyeHateGod and The Business??? The Business isn't even a hardcore band. Hell, they're one of the poppier Oi bands.

MarkV - 2-6-2009 at 06:48 PM

I don't think Slapshot and the Business together is all that odd.

random - 2-6-2009 at 06:50 PM

Agreed, but I can sorta see Slapshot with the rest of that bill. But not the Business.

MarkV - 2-6-2009 at 06:53 PM

Keep in mind, Mad Sin's on there too.
And Motley Crue and Backyard Babies.

random - 2-6-2009 at 07:01 PM

Gee, Mark, I know you like to be right about everything, but...

I saw two bands on that list that don't belong at all - The Misfits and The Business. I can sorta see The Misfits on there for name recognition and likely low guarantee. The rest were all fast hardcore or metal. I missed Mad Sin but they don't fit at all either. Still didn't see Motley Crue listed but they can go with Sacred Reich if I'm remember Headbanger's Ball from 1993 correctly. Oh, to be 12 years old again. :(

I'd ask who the Backyard Babies are, but I honestly couldn't fucking care any less.

MarkV - 2-6-2009 at 07:21 PM

The Misfits play with more metalish bands quite a bit.

I also didn't say the Business DID fit. I pointed out Madsin, who are also odd on the bill.
I don't consider Motley Crue a metal band. I realize that lots of people consider the LA Sunset Strip 80s scene to be "metal," but I don't and never have. Backyard Babies are a swedish glam/rock n roll band with Dregen who used to be in the Hellacopters, as well. They make sense with Motley Crue. (I only mentioned the Crue because Honus listed them).

So, all I was pointing out was a few odd ducks, as opposed to just the business. Wasn't arguing with you, nor trying to be "right." But, if that's how you took it, fine with me.

random - 2-6-2009 at 07:31 PM

i'm just being an ass because you've been argumentative in other threads here and on mark's board. purely for my own amusement. :) no offense intended... ok, maybe slight offense.

MarkV - 2-6-2009 at 07:43 PM

There's a difference between being argumentative in a discussion and making up something to argue about.
Don't worry, I'm not easily offended.

XHonusWagnerX - 2-6-2009 at 10:01 PM

ok...

#1 I'm stupid and it was MY typo that spelled The Business wrong!

#2 Slapshot & The Buisness toured together so they work well together.

#3 I think that for the most part this festival is just as many big names as they can get in whatever genre they happen to be as long as its rock based music.

JawnDiablo - 2-6-2009 at 10:10 PM

however you stack it, there's a bunch of good stuff on this.

European festivals tend to have some weird mixes, but it usually works: it's not weird to see Dropkick Murphys and Dimmu Borgir back to back on things like this.

DaveMoral - 2-7-2009 at 12:04 PM

^Not weird in what sense? In that it happens regularly? Because it is kind of a strange thing to contemplate.
