I'm surprised they're playing at the North Star Bar in Phila. again. Last time in town they seemed to have a pretty good crowd at the TLA and that's at least 3 times the size by my count.

As much as I like Swingin' Utters I think I would prefer them taking Flatfoot 56 back on the road.

Don't get me wrong, Utters are awesome but Flatfoot's music grabs me quite a bit. Plus, Flatfoot's live shows remind me of everything I love about punk. Utters I have never seen live, so this may be for the best. I'm a sucker for routine sometimes.

Swingin' Utters put on a great show and when I saw 'em in November they were better than any time I've seen before. The majority of their set was old classics of theirs and Johnny was really into it. Flatfoot 56 I've never seen, but the recordings aren't anything too great to me. I kept trying to like 'em, but between them just not standing out from the whole Celtic Punk pack and them being a religious band, I just can't get into 'em.

If you ever get a chance to see Flatfoot, go for it. Personally, I think they were the band of the night when they opened for Street Dogs in Phila last year. I can see what you mean about their records not sticking out as compared to the 59,783 other Irish punk bands though.
