Thorp and Sailor's Grave Board

Sad day in Radio

barc0debaby - 2-20-2009 at 02:15 PM

Today is the last day for LA's 97.1, which had such great radio programming as the Adam Carolla and Tom Leykis show. The station is switching to a top 40 format. I am real fucking bummed out.

I don't think it was mentioned here but Indie 103 closed it's doors in the past month, too.

The radio business is in real bad shape. Everybody has a ipod.

I thought indie 103 went to online only...
either way it sucks...
time for the rise of the pirate stations

Yeah, it's "online" but barely. Most of the shows and DJs are gone.

This sucks REALLY bad. I have been podcasting the Adam Carolla show for the past few months and fucking LOVE it! It kills about 3 hours of my day at work. FUCK!

Now what are we stuck with...

[adam] NOTHING!!!!! [/adam]

Adam Carolla is going to do 45 minute podcasts from his garage. "Shorter, but angrier and drunk" were his exacts words I believe.

Yeah, I listened to his podcast from the other day when they were hinting at them still doing a podcast but I haven't heard the latest episode. I hope T and Bald Brian are still with him. That is a solid team.

He also hinted at having some television offers today. Offered to bring most of the crew from the show along if he got a deal.
