Too much bullshit involved in Meteors for my liking. Anyone who tries to monopolize an entire genre can fuck off. Dave - 3-13-2009 at 11:56 PM

I tend to really like a lot of bands that get lumped in with the Psycho scene that don't really fit there in my mind, like:
Legendary Shack Shakers
Kings Of Nuthin
The Staggers
Alley Dukes
and so on.
I also LOVE a lot of bands that throw some Country or 'billy into their sound that don't really fit in anywhere else like:
Nine Pound Hammer
Throw Rag
Hickoids - these guys are an old old Austin band that were doing the Country Punk thing when that was a dangerous thing to do. There's a CD out now
that has some of their old stuff on it, but I think their best songs were on an old Toxic Shock album called Waltz A Cross Dress Texas which is well
worth tracking down and comes HIGHLY recommended by me.
There's a lot more I could list for all three of these sections, but those are all that are coming to mind at the moment.Dave - 3-14-2009 at 03:17 PM

I like Mad Sin alot, but think the genre as a whole is stale and repetitive.bombidol - 3-14-2009 at 04:34 PM
It really can be, a lot of bands are in it just to be a psychobilly band. Instead of pushing the genre and seeing what they can bring into it. To be
fair the same can be said for all forms of music but its especially true with psychobilly. the problem is that its criminally underrated and has kind
of festered on itself the last 20 years. Spoiler - 3-14-2009 at 06:28 PM
