Sucks. I am not extremely handy but I try. I replaced the front storm door for Mrs. R83 yesterday. We got one that when you drop the top glass
piece down, a screen is connected and immediately replaces the glass. Pretty cool.
Took me 5 hours to pull the old one off and put the new one. Thankfully a friend dropped by who knew more of what needed to be done.
Drawback is that we got a new electronic combination deadbolt that slightly interferes with new storm door.
I do not recommend anyone do attempt this.

This job sucks. Anything that involves doors is a pain in the ass. Common sense says make it level but if you ever have done this job it involves more
than common sense. You must think outside the "door". BWAHAHHAAHAHA. Its ahrd job. The second storm door/main door I had installed I paid Home Depot
to do it. They did it for $50. It's well worth it unless you have a friend who knows what to do. I am finishing off my fathers basement right now and

It is the screen/glass storm door. not the main front door. I wouldn't attempt the main door. You'd HAVE to finish that one in one day. No choice

HOw did you hang the storm door? It was jsut screws around the perimeter right? Didi you start in one area and go around or start with the outside

I used the existing frame to a degree. The directions had me hang it on the hinge side first, then level the door as I screwed them in. Then level
it off with the "rain guard" at top. That was pretty well done. I was only off a little but when I went to the "latch" side, things got interesting.
The latch didn't match up with the pre-drilled wholes for the latch so I have to cut it down about 1/4 inch.
Since I had to adjust, the door doesn't rest perfectly and you have to pull it shut vs. letting it close by itself. Not a big deal to have the
versatility of basically having two doors in one (one glass and one screened).
After I screwed it into the frame on the hinge side, I had to screw it into the door fame (in the middle part of the doorway).
I'm just glad it's over honestly and the Mrs. really liked it so that was some pretty solid payment there.
