I actually saw scrapple in a supermarket here. I was surprised to see it, and wanted to buy it but the Mrs. said no. I've never had it before, so maybe I'll go buy it this weekend when she's at work.

Ok boys, enlighten the kid from the Midwest. What is Scrapple? I vaguely recall this conversation in a thread a few years ago. I can assume it is a pork product.

JawnDiablo - 3-21-2009 at 09:50 PM

pork parts...the ones they dont use..scrapsper say
corn meal
deliciousness
all slopped together into a disgusting brick that is understood by few loved by many in a 200 mile radius of Philadelphia...aka the big scrapple

CR83 - 3-22-2009 at 07:50 PM

Could it be something you'd mix with scrambled eggs then cook?

BDx13 - 3-23-2009 at 10:01 AM

you could do that.
need to cook it first, like you would bacon or sausage, then mix in the eggs.
usually, you slice it just under a half inch thick and throw it in a fry pan.
after 8 or 10 minutes, outsides will be firm and crispy, but the inside will be hot and, well, mushy.
