JawnDiablo - 4-16-2009 at 07:15 AM

buying.........
Paul must have radar or something as to knowing when we yap about his band.
any plans to come back to Philly any time soon?

tireironsaint - 4-16-2009 at 07:17 AM

Shit, Paulie, even on your website it still says it's coming soon or at least it still said that when I went there again to double check right before I posted my question here... OK, I'm off to make a purchase.

tireironsaint - 4-16-2009 at 08:03 AM

So...I go back to the Joe Coffee website, it still says the record's coming soon. I follow the link to I Scream's site and it's down for an overhaul and has a link to their myspace. I follow it over there and find nothing about the record or anywhere to buy any of their releases at all. I go to the JC myspace and see nothing about it. I check Amazon and several sellers have it on CD for a variety of prices, but none of which leave me feeling assured that my purchase actually gets the band and/or label paid. I do find it over on the Newbury Comics site, which I assume will get everybody paid properly, but I was thinking this was coming out on vinyl as well and I don't see that anywhere. My hope was that I'd be able to buy both the CD and the LP versions of this from either the band or the label so as to make sure that as much of the price I'm paying goes to the band as possible, but that doesn't seem possible. I guess I'll be buying the CD from Newbury Comics or something later on, but as I said, that's not really the way I wanted to go about doing things and since I have the original version of the CD, I'm not in such a rush to just get the new version that I need to buy it from the first place I find....

Maybe not, but I coulda sworn that was in the talks when this reissue was first discussed. I hope it happens, but I can't find it yet.

REV.PAULIE - 4-17-2009 at 02:00 AM

no matter who you're buying it from, they got it from i-scream,and all parties involved will be paid,accordingly...

vinyl will come,as well...as an import....'not exactly sure when that's happening.

i'm involved in an art showing at jinxed tattoos, tonight (april 17th),in philly...not exactly sure what's going to transpire, but i will have two pieces showing/for sale(wishful thinking),and i'm sure alcohol will be involved in some capacity.

gavin - 4-17-2009 at 02:23 AM

i been to jinxed art openings before
mike does a good job with that stuff for sure

Yeah, I've always been kinda confused by this; I mean I can kind of understand, and there's some validity to the buying direct from label means more direct for the label and direct from the band means more direct to the band. But, anywhere else you can get it, the label's selling and thus, the label's crediting the band for.
There's also the "I'd rather buy it live than at a store so the band gets the money," which is certainly admirable in the perspective of "band needs money on tour," but I don't think most people realize how hard it really is to get records into stores, and when they're not selling there, they don't want more, nor do other stores want to take them.

BDx13 - 4-17-2009 at 09:56 AM

there are so many double edged swords in this business.

i love vinyl and wish we put it out
but the math is tough...
they cost more to make and are hard to sell for as much as a cd
so ya gotta sell a greater percentage to make your money back.
and if they don't all sell, you lose more.

we'll see.
i've been back on the idea recently.
maybe.

BDx13 - 4-17-2009 at 10:10 AM

little notice on the art thing, next time please!

what time is tonight's show?
and/or what time does jinxed close?
might be able to make it out after the kids are in bed, but it would be later.
gavin, you working tonight?

gavin - 4-17-2009 at 01:42 PM

jinxed closes at like 9 or 10 i believe
but nights mike does art opening stuff it goes later
at least it has in the past
people hanging out and whatnot

duane, i'm working yeah
i get there at like 5 until 1230 or so
i was thinking of trying to roll down there real quick at some point
although when it's this nice out work gets crazy so i may not have a chance to
i dunno
its only like 2 blocks from where i'm at but i havta play it by ear

if you come down, stop at the shop
me and bri are there tonight

BDx13 - 4-17-2009 at 02:09 PM

i have to play it by ear, but if i come down, you'll see me.
probably wouldn't get to the city til 9 at the earliest, though.
i'm putting the likelihood at only about 35-40%.

gavin - 4-17-2009 at 02:20 PM

dig it

Discipline - 4-17-2009 at 04:35 PM

Gavin, aren't you living in the Carolina's? Did I miss something?

defstarsteve - 4-17-2009 at 04:43 PM

I was thinking the same thing...
what happend to living down the south?

gavin - 4-17-2009 at 04:53 PM

long story i'll tell youz later
i'm walkin out the door for work

REV.PAULIE - 4-22-2009 at 07:27 AM

I'M BACK TO CAPS!!!!!!

GO SCREW........

the opening was fun...more like a weird sitting in a store feeling like a creep until they mentioned that they got me a nottle of Maker's...!

the evening progressed into a happily drunken blur...me and my boy, kelly forsyth (who, also, has works hanging) had a great time...the new bassist for JOE COFFEE lives down there in the city of brotherly luv (he;d previously played in the BAD VIBES)...he,and his girl, put us up for the night,,,

both mine and kelly's work will be hanging up there at JINXED for the duration of a moth.i think,if anyone is interested in checking it out...

and,it is for sale...(hint,hint)...reasonable...i'm new at this...

come to GENERATION RECORDS for the in-store,if you're around..

i won't hate ya if yer not...

go cordially fuck yourselves...gracefully.
