When was the best possible time to start/end auctions? I remember you posting the info a while back. Thinking about starting them tonight but if I do
7 day they will end next sat night. It seems like a bad time since most people are out doing things and not waiting for a auction to end.

simple guess - since i agree with your rationale - is to end it monday-thursday night. late enough for west coast bidders to be off work, but before
east coast people go to sleep... so probably 10-11pm your time. people who bid or "watch" on ebay get updates (or used to) about the status of the
auction (like "Bid now, auction almost over").
You'll likely get people (like me) who will watch the auction to see if it's worth bidding at the price and might try to snipe it at the last second,
so you might want to put on a reserve price if you're getting rid of valuable stuff with low starting bids. Low opening bids are good since they
don't scare people away, but I personally hate reserve prices... if you don't want to sell it for less than $X, don't list it for less than $X (and I
realize it's so people bid at a low level and get attached, so they overbid up to or above the reservation price).

i've read auctions ending on weekends do better.
ending late afternoon / early evening.
