Thorp and Sailor's Grave Board

New ink this friday (first meaningful tat)

XnMeX - 5-13-2009 at 08:23 PM

A friend of mine at work designed it off a very simple / shitty concept / placement sketch I made.

It is a tattoo of me, my brother, and my dad (who passed away when I was 14)...

My dad is in the middle thru a fence hole which is one of my favorite pictures of my dad (even though it is really hard to see)

The ninjas are me and my brother... We used to dress up as ninjas complete with black t-shirts for the ninja masks and sneak up on my dad and our ninja names were "Grippis and Grappis"... NO idea where the names came from but it is a VERY cherrished childhood memory of mine.

The actually tattoo is going to be full color and I have a session scheduled friday for it. I'll post up pictures when I get it.

That's awesome!

BDx13 - 5-13-2009 at 08:55 PM

that design is terrific.
good for you for commemorating your family like that!

BKT - 5-13-2009 at 09:31 PM

Easily one of the best ideas for a tattoo I have ever heard of. Good for you brother, can't wait to see the finished tat.

MM.

Thanks for the comments. I have never been soo excited to get some ink.

CR83 - 5-13-2009 at 10:13 PM

Outstanding idea and what a cool way to remember him. This is a brilliant design and concept

XHonusWagnerX - 5-13-2009 at 10:14 PM

thats REALLY awesome...... it looks cool, but the story behind it is awesome and its really cool that you're doing it. I feel the same way about my 'sacred heart' tattoo (even though its not as cool or original as ninjas!) because the banners say "Pop" and "Grandma" and have pictures of a flower, golfball, cat & an anchor to symbolize each of my grandparents.

I had told my GF about that tattoo because she is trying to work on somthing for her grandmas memory and I think it sparked my idea into my head so you get some credit ;)

clevohardcore - 5-13-2009 at 10:26 PM

Doesn't get more meaningful than that. POST THOSE PICS.

Dave - 5-13-2009 at 11:04 PM

Thanks! Almost done healing. I love getting tats, love the look of new tats, HATE the healing process. My legs allways are a pain to heal for some reason.

Furly - 5-26-2009 at 10:57 AM

yeah, that's rad!

cuz blood goes to your legs everytime you stand up...makes the healing hurt more during the first batch of days...elevate yr leg like you would a sprain if it gets too bad...also, you can ice it if it seems to be swelling like a sprain would

CR83 - 5-26-2009 at 04:38 PM

Awesome!
