"A total of 33 Fox advertisers, including Wal-Mart Stores Inc., CVS Caremark, Clorox and Sprint, directed that their commercials not air on Beck's show"

Welcome to the New World Order.

Soon enough speak out and loose advertising money will = speak out and loose your job. These guys better enjoy the next couple years, when he gets his second term it's open season on anyone that doesn't fall in line.

glenn beck is a douche and if I was spending my ad money I wouldn't want my ads played during a douche bags show

Jason the Magnificent - 8-25-2009 at 12:02 PM

apples and oranges.

He's been a douche for a long time, they didn't mind advertising for how long?

clevohardcore - 8-25-2009 at 01:37 PM

I like Beck and Jason is right. It's crazy, but fucking true.

I can understand the thought that this is an attack on Beck's speech but, keep in mind, I doubt this will put much of a dent in Fox News's ad revenue. I don't know any of their numbers but I recall they are consistently one of the top rated stations on cable, so they, logically speaking, have to be making a mint.

On top of that, if Glenn Beck wants to make outrageous claims about Obama, fine but they come with repercussions. He's not calling him a socialist or a tax and spend liberal, but a racist. I don't know if he has ever said anything this outrageous before but this one is out there. O'Reilly, Hannity and others have been railing on Obama for a good while about everything but while they might embellish, the meat of their arguments is somewhat grounded in truth. Beck is drifting towards the realm of Ann Coulter and Michael Moore, saying shit that is more inflammatory and makes me think they don't give a fuck about normal people but are trying to stir shit to get noticed.

Overall I just see this as more left vs. right bullshit, each side trying to prove that the other is wrong, evil, destroying America, whatever.

Same old shit, served up brand new.

I just wrote this on the fly, hope it makes sense.

I'd rather leave the board as Steve recommends.

In case anyone is unsure, I was not trying to start shit with my post, just feeling more politically inclined than usual. My apologies to anyone who took it as starting something.
